Lia Was Busy
No it’s not Friday, it’s only Tuesday so don’t think you missed the other days in the week but I’m sharing a “non” Friday Story Time by Lia! I had a busy last week, my grandparents took me to Disney World in Florida. But before I left I had an even busier week! You could say, “Oh my, Lia was busy for the past two weeks!”
First things first, I had a playdate with my friend Carlos before I left on my trip, he came over to my house and then we walked over to his house to play for the afternoon. Then ma and pop ran to the store and got pizza for our pizza party! I have a little sad news… I have known Carlos since I was about four months old, I met him on his first birthday. Carlos, his mom and dad will be moving to Virginia in a few days and we are going to miss each other. But we plan to have video chats, send letters and pictures back and forth and even meet half way from our house to his new house. Carlos’s mommy said it’s only about a 2 1/2 hour drive for each to meet so we can still have playdates!
A few days before I left for Florida I baked cookies and packed up a big box to share with everyone while on our long drive! These are Italian drop cookies, one of my favorites and of course I added sprinkles to the frosting.
It was also my friend Sue’s birthday so I made two giant cookies. For the two giant cookies I added white cake batter chips and pieces of dried strawberries. When the cookies finished baking, one looked like a face so I made Mickey Mouse out if it by adding two small cookies for ears! Do you see the face in the cookie? For Sue I put the other big cookie in a container with four little ones around it and made her a card. She was so excited to receive her birthday surprise.
As I was getting ready to go on my Disney World trip, ma remembered I have a Minnie Mouse dress! So of course I had to pack that for when I saw Mickey and Minnie Mouse!
While I was on my trip Snowball missed me so much, he laid on pop’s chair and hung his head over to look out the door, but i wasn’t home yet. Then he would go lay on the sofa cushion right above where I always sit! Pop said he was looking for me everyday.
“WHAT DO I HEAR? IS THAT LIA COMING HOME? YES IT IS, I HAVE TO RUN AND GIVE HER A BIG WELCOME HOME KISS!”
I got home Sunday afternoon and look how silly Snowball was when he saw me back home! He was so excited and I was excited to see him too!
I had a fun trip to Disney World, we had a long drive back to grandma’s house then another few hours to get back to my home. I was laying down watching my show when Snowball jumped on the couch and we both fell asleep! What a busy two weeks I’ve had and now it’s time say good night!
Martha, Lia is normally a very busy person, but oh my! These last two weeks! Yes, I do see the Mickey Mouse face in the cookies! Cool. Now, I am SO SAD for Lia and Carlos that Carlos’ family is moving. Sigh. Lia and Carlos have had an apparently effortless companionship for most of their lives. When I was tiny, in Texas, I had such a friend. But Dad took a new job, in Delaware, and off we went– I was 2. What a wrench. Well, there are many fine and fun people I have met since, and I have thrived throughout life. Lia will also meet many fine and delightful people and make so many new friends.
Yes it’s sad but unfortunately even little ones have to learn about life Kebba. Lia and Carlos have such a great time together and between video chats and road trips we can still get them together. Lia will be starting school in August and I’m sure the little social butterfly will met lost of new little friends. But she won’t forget Carlos, I’m sure!
Wow, you have been busy! It’s so nice that we Facetime now and other ways we can stay in touch with friends who move away. I’m sure you will miss Carlos!
Lia says, “I will miss Carlos but ma said we can take road trips and still have playdates! He is so special to me.”
What a great story, thanks for sharing, Lia!!
Thanks for visiting Kimberly, it has been a very busy two weeks.
Awww, I love the Minnie Mouse dress, so cute! Disney World is one of the best places to visit. I haven’t been in years but am looking forward to taking my grandsons very soon.
Thanks Maria, a friend of ma gave it to me after it didn’t fit her granddaughter anymore! I had fun, hope you have fun when you go!
I am so sorry Carlos is moving away. I do hope video chatting will sustain your friendship.
Love your Minnie dress! so friendly and cheerful!
Lia, I hear you are sick, are you feeling better?
Lia says, “I’m going to miss Carlos but ma said we can still see each other on video chats! We also will be taking road trips to meet each other half way from both of us! I had a fun time at Disney World and I love my Minnie dress too. Yes, I’m feeling much better, thank you!”
Being busy can be a good thing. You just don’t want to be overwhelmed with being busy. 🙂
That is so true Amanda. Sometimmes we just need to step back and take a break and relax.
