Laundry Day with Lia

Hi, it’s me again with my Friday Story Time with Lia. Yesterday I turned 17 months old and it seems like I’ve been working for half my life already. But I love helping mommy around the house because then we have more time to be together! So today I’m sharing my laundry day story!

First thing I do is sort the pile of clothes and put them in the basket. It’s so much fun being a helper! I push the basket from the bedroom to the washing machine. But first I have to grab my bench so I can reach the top of the machine. While the clothes are washing mommy and I hang out and have a snack or play.

The washer machine is done, time to put the clothes in the dryer! Mommy hands them to me and I toss them in. Oh I hear the buzzer, the clothes are dried and ready to put in the basket, fold them and put away. Everyone has to share in the household duties so there is more time to play!

Visiting

So today I’m visiting GGpapa and mama and guess what day it is?? (No it’s not humpday) It’s Friday… laundry day! So just like helping mommy, I’m helping here too! Papa has to carry the basket down since it’s upstairs but he put’s it down and I push the basket through the kitchen to the laundry room.

I have to stretch to load them in the washing machine because I don’t have a little bench to climb up at mama and papa’s but they are working on finding me one!

Wash is done again ready to put in dryer! It’s so much fun helping, I think I heard papa telling mama I might want some fruit snacks!

I have had such a busy day starting with me seeing a woodpecker in the back yard. Papa said we needed more bird feeder so we ran to Lowe’s to get some. I helped papa fill the feeders and waited for more birds! I love watching them fly way up in the air. I wave to the birds as they fly away but they will be back! Did you see that I’m wearing my LA Dodger outfit? It’s a bit early for their spring training but I’ll be ready to watch the games with GGpapa! I get a little owl yesterday so papa hooked him on the zipper so he doesn’t get lost.

Then while waiting for the laundry I practiced my ukalele. Clothes are still in the dryer, I’m so tired from my busy day I’m going to take a little nap until I have to fold the clothes!

Was your day as busy as mine? I can’t wait to see what exciting things we will do later. Enjoy your weekend, I’ll be back with another Friday Story soon!

You did an excellent job with the laundry, Lia! And you did an even better job in telling the Laundry Day story! I look forward to more of your blog posts! Have fun and keep telling stories!

Lia says thank you Alice! I’m having such a great time “helping” Lia with her blogs. One day soon she will be writing the blog herself!

  2. You tuckered her out! Overworking a child!

  3. Wendy McBride says:

I’m amazed at how smart she is and how involved she is! She seems so much older than 17 months!

    • Martha says:

Because Lia is so tall people think she’s either 2 or 2 1/2. When we tell them 17 months most are amazed. She is just like her mommy was at this age, like a little sponge taking everything in and retains what she learns. Show her once and she’s got it. I think the teachers will have fun challenging her when she starts school!

  4. Doug Jarvie says:

It sounds like it takes two to keep up with Lia.

    • Martha says:

Lia is so precious and always willing to learn Doug. She is like a little sponge just like her mommy at this age. I love how she enjoys helping and smiling when done as if to say, “I did good!”

  5. Amanda Gene says:

Hi Lia! My day was pretty chill. I been working on a jigsaw puzzle, and I have been reading a book for my book club. It’s great to see that you help your mommy and GGPapa and GGMama with the laundry. Have a great week. 🙂
