Ladybug Poem
Lia loves Ladybugs and every time there is one on the bush, she has to run over and see it. She loves having them crawl up her hands and arm. But when the ladybug flies away she get’s so upset. I told her they will come back another day, so she waits. We came up with a short Ladybug poem, hope you enjoy Lia’s ladybugs!
I saw a little ladybug,
It crawled right up my arm.
She tipped her wings to send a hug,
She knew she’d have no harm.
The ladybug went on her way,
So sad when she said good bye.
But she’ll return another day,
And I won’t have to cry.
Lia loves learning about nature, every time she sees a bug she has to check it out and learn more about them. Ladybugs are from the Beetle family and not bugs. They are also called ladybird beetles or lady beetles. People love them because they are so colorful and won’t harm humans. Farmers love them because they eat aphids and other plant-eating pests. Some people consider ladybugs good luck. Maybe that’s why Lia loves her Ladybugs! We hope you enjoyed out little Ladybug poem!
When Lia painted a picture for mommy’s birthday, she even added two little ladybugs in the corner! http://themarthareview.com/7-steps-to-mommys-birthday-painting/
Precious!! Do you have lightening bugs where you live? Lia would adore them!!!
No we don’t but I remember having so much fun catching them when I was a young girl! Lia would absolutely love them Kate!
We bought a lot of ladybugs so they could eat those critters that were destroying our lawn. Away most of them flew!
I am not sure it worked LOL
What a cute poem! Have a lovely day!
Oh no, that’s a bummer to have them fly away Dominique! We have so many around our bushes, Lia loves catching them!
I love ladybugs, too, Lia. I have two painted ones sitting in front of my hoya plant in the sunroom.
Lia said she’d love to see your painted ladybugs Lily! She loves watching them crawl around the leaves.
What an absolutely lovely poem! Stellar! Great job!
I love ladybugs too. Their red shells with the black dots stand out wherever they go.
By the way, Lia is demonstrating the palmar-supinate grasp. It’s the first stage in pencil grip development. Way to go, grandma!
Thank you Florence, sometimes when I see a picture, poems come to me. That’s interesting that is what Lia’s grip is called. When she’s writing her name she holds it differently, at more on an angle. Thanks for visiting!
Hello Martha and Lia! Lovely pictures and poem about ladybird beetles 🐞 I too, believe they are good luck and happy to see them around. Where I saw the most in one place was, Arkansas, there were swarms of them! I think they were having a party at the hot springs! Thank you for sharing.
Sending lots of love and gratitude,
Jaime
That must have be exciting to see them in swarms Jaime. I can’t image what Lia would do if she saw that many ladybirds at once! Thanks for visiting, sending hugs!
Lovely! I love lady bugs!
Thanks Angela, I love watching them with Lia too!
What a cute poem.
Thanks Amanda, I like coming up with poems when I see pictures.
I love Lia’s poem. She is a little freestyle poet. Nature can be a place of magic. Watch and see!
Thanks Brenda, Lia loves nature and now she has started to pick up ALL kinds of bugs!
