July Friday Story Time by Lia

Hi everyone, I’m excited to be back for another Ultimate Blog Challenge with Ma!

When you read this I will be on the way to see Uncle Zac in Indiana with ma, mommy, Taco and of course Snowball! We left about midnight and should get there by this afternoon.

Ma said I should go to sleep so I can wake up for breakfast on the road and soon see Zac. I was so excited but I finally fell asleep with Snowball on my lap at 3:00 am

I have so much to write about for my July Friday Story Time by Lia and I’m not sure where to start so I think I’ll tell you about my school year.

End of the Year Kindergarten Awards Day

It seems like I just graduated from 4K but that was a year ago! Look how much I’ve grown in just a year! I loved Kindergarten and a few of my 4K classmates were back with me but I also met a lot of new friends. I had two teachers and I loved them both (and they loved me too!)

One fun project was picking a country and learning about it. Pop’s grandparents were born in Italy so mommy and I thought it would be fun to learn more about that country. After we looked at all the other project boards, we had coloring table and learned about Calaveras which are skulls. Mommy, ma and I each colored the skulls. Of course ma had to take a picture of my funny face with one top tooth gone!

May 29th was my Kindergarten awards day and when I said good bye to my Kindergarten teachers. I got some beautiful flowers and ma gave me the best present…APPLESAUCE!! I love applesauce and these are the big cups! Mommy thought it was funny to get applesauce for a gift but as soon as I got home I had two cups of it!

I received many awards throughout my Kindergarten year and I was awarded my successful Certificate of Completion for Kindergarten and in a few months I will be a 1st grader! I love reading and I have learned to read so good, ma and I crawl in my Princess tent and we read to each other! I read one page and she reads the next, it’s fun doing that. I also love math and I learned fractions from baking and using measuring cups and spoons. Since school has ended, I’m still keeping up with my reading and I’m even learning cursive.

Mommy, Taco, Ma and daddy were all there at the ceremony and they told me they are so proud of me. Now I’m looking forward to a week in Indiana! I’ll be back next week with more exciting blogging news!

Congratulations, Lia! Love all your photos, especially the one in your gown and cap. And if it’s okay with you, I might draw or paint it one day.

  2. Lia, wow, so many adventures! And is that a painting of you by Lily, at the top? It looks like you are expressing victory, which you should! I love the award for your being “caught following the rules and helping others”– what an awesome concept. You are growing so tall– I often wonder how tall you will be in 10 or 15 years? Have a great time in Indiana.

Wow, Lia, you had a fantastic year in school! I am so excited that you love to read. Reading is a great thing because it opens up all sorts of worlds to you. Every story that you read is its own world. And books are the key to those worlds!

I am so happy that you had such a good day graduating from kindergarten. Enjoy your visit to Indiana and have a great time with your family. I am sure that they are thrilled to see you!

Lia, I certainly feel like I just graduated from 4K, too! Then again, look at how much you’ve learned during that Kindergarten year!
Very cool that you studied Italy, which is my neighbor country. Many Italians actually live in Switzerland, and they brought their cuisine, which we get to enjoy!
Speaking of cuisine, I love how you practiced your fractions when baking. That’s how math should be: applied to real life, not a theory on paper!
Congratulation on your awards! I especially like that you were “caught” being helpful 🙂 Keep it up!
    Enjoy your stay at Zac’s!
