July 2017 Ultimate Blog Challenge

July 2017 Ultimate Blog Challenge

Do you know what today is? It’s July 1st, the beginning of the July 2017 Ultimate Blog Challenge!  The last challenge was in April and while I completed the challenge, I have really slacked off on blogging since then.  My schedule has been so busy between work, my earning sites, planting the garden and life in general.  But now I’m ready to get focused and begin the challenge once again AND hopefully complete it once again!

I have so many ideas that I plan to write about from some delicious new recipes that I have come up with, helpful tips to save money and of course bragging about my grandchildren. This is one delicious recipe I tried last month, if you like bacon, you’ll want to check out the Candied Bacon  But the biggest and most exciting blog will be the finale’ of the month when hubby and I celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary on July 29th.  Can’t wait for that day and to blog about it.

We had such an abundance of eggplant in our garden and I didn’t have time to fry it all so I came up with a recipe for baked eggplant. Here is a sneak peak, be sure to check out when I post this easy and delicious recipe!

In between the challenges, I posted for suggestions that my readers would be interested in and I got some great topics.  I may do that again since it not only gives me a list of things that interest others, but gives me blog topics!  If you have an idea you want me to write about, just let me know in the comment section.

The Ultimate Blog Challenge, hosted by Paul Taubman II and Danni Ackerman, are both so awesome and they even send out a daily email with a suggested topic to write about. But other reasons to join in the challenge are to get in a routine for writing your blog and being committed and motivated, reading other blogs in the challenge and interact by commenting and sharing with other social sites, and just having fun meeting new bloggers. I also like to check my stats on the first day, half way through and then again the last day of the challenge.  It’s a great way to track your views and comments and compare them with previous challenges.

I’m also looking forward to reconnecting with past Ultimate Blog Challenge writers plus meeting new ones. If you haven’t signed up for the challenge, hurry on over and sign up to the July 2017 Ultimate blog Challenge

Let the challenge begin!

I started my blog on Christmas Day 2014 mainly to review products I received. Since then it has evolved into many other categories of lifestyles, family, money saving ideas, low cost, delicious and healthy meals plus other surprise posts. My granddaughter has her own category, Alex's Articles and the latest addition to my blog is my great granddaughter now has her category, Lia's Likings The Baby Blogger! Lia started blogger at 8 months old and she now has a Friday Story Time blog you won't want to miss! I welcome you to join the conversation, ask a question, give a suggestion or leave a comment on any blog post. I hope you enjoy Lia's Likings, she has some great posts that will make you smile!

Thanks for coming back for another round!

Shhhh… I too have slacked off a bit on blogging, and am ready to go full force!

    Let the games begin!

I’ve been looking forward to the July challenge since the April one ended Paul! I really need to get back on track and your challenges to it! We’ll both get going full force! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for hosting this great challenge.

You did such a great job explaining what the UBC is. My explanation is a little sparse. Like you, my blog posting gets a little sporadic after the challenge. Here’s hoping this time will be better for both of us. Looking forward to reading about your anniversary celebration. July must be a good month for weddings, my anniversary would be this month too.

    • Martha says:

I read you blog and you explained it very well! My blogs jump from a variety of topics, have always thought maybe I should get a niche but I have so many ideas to write about, that would be hard to do. July is a good wedding and anniversary month! When is yours and how many years? There’s a blog topic for you right there! Thanks for visiting, see you at your next blog Nita!

I’m doing the Ultimate Blog Challenge too and am excited about it. I love your idea about asking your readers what they want to learn more about. I’m going to do that too!

    • Martha says:

Getting readers to offer suggestions is a great way when you have “brain fade” for topics. When I posted from those that suggested topics, I tagged them in the share and they were so excited! So it not only gives you a topic, it gives those who gave you ideas a pat on the back! Good luck with the challenge, you can do it Monick!

  4. Martha, like you I have slacked in my blogging since the last challenge. I was not even sure if, was going to do this or not. Life is so busy these days. I will just have to see how far I get. Good luck with the challenge and remember to have fun with it.

    • Martha says:

I keep having good intentions of writing even every other day after challenges and have been doing good at that until the past few months. Yes, life is so busy but I’m going to complete the challenge! (I hope LOL) We just have to take one day at a time, think we can do it? Yes we can!! Thanks for visiting and good luck with your posts also Brenda!

  5. I’m joining in on the challenge too. It’s a great discipline to stay the course with writing. What I’ve decided it to focus on one theme for the month and each day write about a specific aspect of the theme.

I like your idea of several things to write about.

    • Martha says:

That sounds like a great idea of a theme Kathleen! I have completed every challenge but slacked in between. I need to change that! Thanks for stopping by and we’ll get this done together!

  6. Bing says:

    That looks yummy! <3

I am a returned to UBC but I was not successful in completing the challenges. But I think I need to do something about completing tasks and writing for my blog.

I can’t wait to follow your blog as earning money from home is my goal As I had done it in the past but haven’t lately. As like you I had slacked off with blogging but I hope through the challenge I get back on track. Happy Early Anniversary and I can’t wait to see that post. Have a wonderful day.

    • Martha says:

Thanks for the Anniversary wishes Glenda, I’m so excited about our 50th! I’ll always scouting out ways to both earn and save money. Hope some of them can help you out. Thanks for stopping by and good luck in the challenge.

  8. Sandy KS says:

I am ready to start out and actually complete this month’s blog challenge.

    • Martha says:

Glad to hear that Sandy! I have slacked up terrible the past few months, time to get back on track! We’ll do this together!

  9. Kristine says:

Candied bacon? I can’t wait to try it! Also looking forward to the baked eggplant recipe post.

    • Martha says:

Both are delicious Kristine! Today I fried up a batch of eggplant to freeze. I’ll be posting about that later! Thanks for visiting and have fun on the UBC!

  10. LadyInRead says:

loving you gardening related posts on FB Martha and I am hoping to learn to schedule my posts this UBC (with some time away planned potentially in July) as well learn to post more often between challenges 🙂

    • Martha says:

Great to see you back in the challenge LadyInRead, I have enjoyed both the vegetable garden plus our flowers. I too have a challenge of getting my posts completed for the last week of July when we will be out of town for our anniversary. I plan to write a few up in my spare time (ya like I have lots of that!) and schedule them to post on the days I’m unavailable. We can do it!

  11. Nona says:

I missed day 1. Was reminded about it on Day 2. Got a post in LATE. After midnight, but I’m still counting it for day 2. I’m determined to finish and blog EVERY DAY this time. lol

    • Martha says:

Well you made it Nona! I actually posted my day 3 on the evening of day 2. Now it’s 7PM and I haven’t even started day 4! We’ll both get there!

  12. Doug says:

    Hi Martha,
It is good to see you here again.
I have been on vacation for the last few challenges and internet access is kind of hit and miss and I am usually focussed on enjoying the vacation.
Although I’m starting a few days late, I will be posting pictures of some of the places I have visited.
I’m looking forward to reading more of you posts through the month. Blog on.

    • Martha says:

Glad to see you back at the challenge Doug! I’m sure you’ll have many great blogs to share of your vacation. Then it will seem like we all were there enjoying the sites!
