Jesus Has Risen

Today is the day Jesus has risen. To those who celebrate, may you have a Blessed Easter and a day filled with love, hope and gratitude.

Lia made me this cross for Easter last year with the help from her grandmother. It reminds me of the song The Old Rugged Cross.

Martha what a great reminder of what the holiday really means. I am also learning the meaning of Passover a little through my Jewish practicing friends and a little bit through Kimberly’s Winters post yesterday. But still am limited in my knowledge of Passover. I do want to say how the Alan Jackson song was beautiful and the connection with Lia’s and her other grandmother’s cross was BEA U TI FULL! When I first came t love country music my favorite singer was Alan Jackson after all I was in the military in Germany and he sung about that girl from Long Island! Ok, my favorite hymnal is actually another song but that was a beautiful rendition on Hallelujah! I kept thinking of the movie of the station of the cross that my childhood priest (Fr Joe) showed us in school- I went to Catholic School- to this day the song that played along with the very vivid images of the shroud- it was more than just the stations of the cross as he was doing his research to find physical proof of Jesus, and all. The images were the actual shroud with imprints of the crown of thorns and all- and then when I was in Mariastein, Switzerland and went down into the hallway where it was darker and dimly lit it took me a few times to go down there to be able to go all the way to the end and back. Is that proof I believe and how I truly have faith?!?!?

FYI- the song that was played during the movie still gives me chills up my back…and is hard for me to hear!
It is or was a popular song as well….

  3. Happy Easter, Martha! Hope you and your family have a wonderful day.
