It’s Friday Story Time by Lia Day!

Hi everyone, I’m back in 2025 with a few more interesting stories for you this month! Welcome back to all the bloggers who know me another welcome to any new ones who have joined in. My name is Lia Faith, I’m six years old and Ma is my great grandmother.

Some may remember last summer both my top front teeth came out about a month apart. They were taking forever to have my grown up teeth come in but they made it by Christmas! I now have 6 grown up teeth and 2 more on the top are loose. Ma made a new gravatar since the old one was from when I was 5 and she says I’m growing so fast.
I’m doing great in 1st grade and mommy, daddy and ma are so proud of me. We had to take achievement tests in November and I scored in the 3rd grade level. I love math and reading the best. At home I like to do science experiments and check things out on my microscope.

Ma is very sad that pop is not with us and she didn’t want to put Christmas decorations up but Aunt Chris suggested to bring the manger out since pop made it last year and they both loved it. So I helped her put in the yard and I added straw around it. When it was dark, ma added the lights. Then where we had fall flowers in a tub, we put big Christmas ornaments in it. The old sled belonged to ma’s dad when he was young and she said it’s over 100 years old! Ma and I were both happy that we put the manger out.
I hope you all have a good weekend and I’ll be back next week for another Friday Story Time by Lia! See you then!
I love reading Lia’s stories. So glad you and your aunt were able to help your Ma get some Christmas joy out. The manger was wonderful and extra special since your grandpa made it. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Nita, I will show Lia your message. I’m so glad Lia and Chris nudged me to set it up.
The manger looks beautiful as do your new front teeth. What a pretty smile.
Lia says thank you Barbara. Why do little kids look so grown up when they get their grownup teeth? LOL
Dear Lia, it’s great to see you back! Happy new year and congratulations on your new front teeth, as well as on scoring exceptionally well on your achievement test! Way to go!
Thank you for cheering up your Ma. It must be so hard for all of you but especially for her to go through the Christmas motions without the love of her life. The yard looks lovely!
Lia says thank you Tamara, she was happy when her big girl teeth arrived in time for Christmas. Between Lia, her mom and my daughter, I don’t know where I would be, they are all my rocks.
I really enjoyed this story! You’re doing great, Lia! What are some of your favorite books?
Lia says thank you Alice for visiting her blog. Currently she doesn’t have any favorite books, hasn’t started into the “series” yet but she loves books about animals.
I could just give you and Ma a big hug. I haven’t felt like celebrating Christmas for a while, and this year my friends Abby and Kody got us a Christmas tree with lights and ornaments. Our house was so pretty for Christmas. I’m glad you helped Ma make the yard pretty for Christmas. 🙂
Hi Lia! Glad to see another installment from you and that you and your aunt did something so special for your Ma (or as we know her, Martha). Looking forward to your stories this month!
Thank you Kimberly from Lia. I’m glad they both pushed me to bring out the manger, I know Rich was watching over us this Christmas.
Oh, I love this display and the thoughtfulness of Lia’s writing. Beautiful sentiments and great photos, too. I also can’t believe she is getting so big!
Thank you Julie, I’m so glad ew set it up with a little coaxing form Lia and my daughter. So many memories that live in my heart.
Love this. There is so much beauty in day to day life and sharing it with others
Thanks Faith, I love the manger and remember Rich building it in the summer of 2023. Old pallets saved from the landfill made a beautiful manger.
This was a fun read Lia! And you are adorable! I’m looking forward to your next Friday Storytime!
Lia says thank you Pam. She is growing so fast and almost as tall as her mom!
Welcome back Lia, its nice to see you and hear your doing so well. I missed seeing Snowball in your post. But I love the tub with Christmas ornaments in it and can’t wait to borrow this ideal next year for our top balcony. Have a great weekend and I will see you next Friday. Thank you for helping Ma and being in the challenge.
Lia says thank you Glenda! I have two of the galvanized tubs, my neighbor was going to toss them a few years ago!
