Indiana Bound

Today is not just Friday Story Time by Lia but it’s also the last day of the January UBC so that means I get to have the last words for the month! I’ve got so much to tell you since last week from school to my Indiana bound trip plus more.
School Happenings

I am in 1st grade at Waterway Elementary school in Little River SC and our school Mascot is a Chief. Ms. Todd is my teacher and I like her a lot. Every month a Chief is chosen and in December I was Chief of the Month. I like to get my work done without talking and do the best I can. I also like to help my classmates if they need help.

A few days ago we had 2nd quarter awards ceremony. Mommy, daddy and ma where there watching as I accepted my certificates for Master of Math, Excellent Reader and Good Citizenship. I always try to do my best in everything I do.
Fun Day

Since we had another e-learning day last Friday, I went over to ma’s and we had art class! I had this clay project kit but never had time to work on it so that was what I did for art! Instead of a bowl I decided to roll different colors of the clay in long string like pieces. When I had them all on the table, they looked like baby snakes! Next I pinched the pieces together then rolled them flat. The kit even came with a little roller. Ma helped me trace my hand on paper and then with the little knife from the kit, we cut around my paper hand to make the clay hand. We tried to put Snowball’s paw in the center but it didn’t show up good so I made one with clay then wrapped a heart around it. After baking it in the oven for 15 minutes, it hardened perfectly. Ma said she’s going to keep my hand.

I love playing with my doll house and since I didn’t have school last Friday, ma and I pretended my dolls were at school! They started with breakfast in the cafeteria then on to the classroom with a laptop and books. One student was talking in class so the teacher called her up to the front and told her she has to be quiet. When school was over, everyone hung on and relaxed
Flying to Indiana

I had such a fun time when mommy and I visited Zac last week. We always have to change planes in Charlotte airport and mommy and I like that because they have a Starbucks! It had been cold in Indiana and the big pond near Zac’s house was frozen so him and I walked out of the ice. Mommy was yelling at us not to go too far but Zac told her the ice was very thick.

We went to Zac’s shop, I played with his dog Max, visited my mommy’s sister and just hung out together. Then Zac had an idea to build a house! He took four chairs and covered them with a big blanket. While he was working on the house I ran to the kitchen and raided the cupboards for snacks. I was set in my “house” and it even had lights and Zac’s video game console. It was so much fun! Soon the week was over and time to get back on the plane and head home. We made it back just in time because that was the day the snow and ice storm was arriving in South Carolina.
Indiana Bound
Today is the last day of the January Ultimate Blog Challenge and I had fun with ma helping me write my stories. But this is not the end of this story. I have some very exciting news….. mommy and I are moving to Indiana so she can be with her brother! We are leaving the end of March but I’m hoping to still have some Friday Story Time by Lia stories. Zac is driving a truck down to South Carolina, load it up and tow mommy’s car back to Indiana. Mommy is very excited to go back where her school friends are and her brother and sister. I’m excited too, I’ll be in a new school and I hope I like it as much as where I am now. I will miss ma and Snowball a lot and daddy, grandma and grandpa but I’ll be coming back for visits often. And I told ma I want her to visit and bring Snowball too. Mommy’s busy packing and Zac will be here on March 21st for a few days to load up then we will head up to Indiana with him. School vacation in Indiana is that week so I will have time to get settled in our house before I start school. I’m hoping to see you all back for the April UBC!
Words from Martha

Alex has been wanting to move back for many years, her plan was to move when Lia finished Kindergarten but put it off for a year. I will miss them both terribly but I know her heart is in Indiana and she will be around a lot longer than I will and I want her to be where she will be happy. I’m happy because when it’s my turn to “move on up” Alex will be settled and not in South Carolina without family. It will be a big change and I’m hoping everything goes smooth on their move and Lia’s new school. I will probably be driving a big triangle often from South Carolina, to Indiana, and to Virginia but Snowball loves to go for rides.

As Jelly Roll says in one of his songs, “I’m not okay by it’s all gonna be alright.”
Thanks again to everyone for visiting Lia’s and my blogs, I’ve enjoyed yours and looking forward to the April challenge.
I absolutely loved reading about your Indiana-bound adventure! Your excitement for the journey shines through, and I can feel the warmth in how you share these moments.
Lia says thank you Jasmine. My new adventure will be exciting.
Congratulations on making Chief of the month, Lia! I’m not surprised though. You have a lot of resources and skills, some of which your Ma contributed greatly to!
What a fun doll house you have! It made me chuckle to read that while you didn’t have to go to school, your dolls had! And one was being unruly and had to be scolded
Now about your news: While I’m happy for you and your Mommy, I’m sad for Ma. I hope you guys will FaceTime often, and you can keep contributing to the UBC, after all everything is online anyway.
It was nice to connect with you for another month. Love from Switzerland!
Lia says thank you Tamara. We are all so proud of her in her academics and her helpfulness. She loves playing school whether it be with her dolls or her and I with some stuff animals as the other students. I just got my 60,000 mile check done on my car so it’s ready to travel any time. I’ll be fine as long as I know they are happy. Congratulations on another blog challenge under your belt, see you in April! Lia and I are sending love back to you from the US!
Oh my god, Martha!! I started crying as soon as I saw that Lia was going to move. Can you go with them? Congrats to Lia for her awards!
Don’t cry Jeanine, it’s a happy time for them and I could have moved but for now I’m staying put until I see what my daughter’s plans are. I want Alex to be where she’s happy and that is with your brother. Congratulations on another challenge done, see you in April if not before!
Best wishes to Lia for the new school.Higs Martha. Its going to be hard but you will visit and so will they.I will pop I’m on the blog too.
Thanks Amrita, there comes a time in our lives when our children need to open their wings and fly where they will be happy. Like the Jelly Roll song, everything will be alright, I’ll be alright.
Aw, we will all miss them.
Yes so will I Brenda but they need to go where they will be happy. Face Time, phone calls and me taking off whenever will follow.
Martha and Lia, well that’s a shockeroo! I did not see that coming! But off you two go, and I know you will thrive in Indiana. Martha, this means you’ll need to really hold up your end for the blog posts in April! Hopefully Lia and Alex will share a lot of photos and news. I love new starts! And this is a great one. (How long is the drive from SC to Indiana?)
I’ve actually known for awhile Kebba but I thought Lia’s last post for January was the perfect time to announce it. We will FaceTime and call, I will be okay and they will be happy. Alex loves her brother and they need to be together for each other. I just had my 60,000 mile service done on my car so it’s ready to roll to Indiana, Virginia and who knows where else. Indiana is about 13 hours, Virginia is about 7 hours. Maybe someday it will find it’s way to Arizona! <3 I
