Independence Day in the United States
Independence day in the United States is celebrated on July 4th as the day that represents the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation. The Continental Congress had submitted a draft on July 2, 1776 but after a few days of re-wording it, the final agreement was made on July 4, 1776.
Some people celebrate the 4th of July at the beach or having a picnic. Here is a blog I wrote earlier with some yummy picnic recipes. http://themarthareview.com/menu-and-recipes-for-july-4th/
Others celebrate the 4th watching a parade or by lining the beach with flags as planes fly over. I snapped these fly-over pictures from North Myrtle Beach.
Off course we can’t forget the fireworks and concerts that are another way that many celebrate the 4th of July.
May you all enjoy Independence Day in the United States, Happy July 4th!
Have a great 4th!!!
Thanks Jyll, you also!
Happy Fourth!
I burst out laughing when I heard many Long Island (NY) parks were already filled to capacity before noon!
Hmmm, I wonder if my grandson and his family were there. But if it’s like Myrtle Beach, it’s more tourists than locals! We are celebrating in our own back yard! Happy Fourth to you also!
Happy 4th, Martha! Thanks!
Happy 4th to you also Paul, hope it was a good one!
Well written as always.
Thanks Rich! <3
Happy 4th of July to you and your husband. We went and sat in the street in front of my mother in laws house with her neighbors. All the neighbors on the other side of the Circle know we sit out there and drive around us while the kids play. It’s become a Family Tradition and one she looks forward to every year.
That sounds like a wonderful time with everyone getting together Glenda. Glad you enjoyed the day.
We did have a wonderful 4th too, and I keep thinking, if the approval was done the day it was submitted, I would be sharing my birthday with the nation!
WOW, just think you could have been Ms. Independence! Glad you had a great 4th and thanks for visiting!
