I’m So Sad
Today is my first Friday Story Time by Lia blog for the April Ultimate Blog Challenge and I’m so sad.
Today is my pop’s memorial service and I’m trying to be strong for my mommy and Ma. Mommy explained to me that Pop went to heaven on Easter morning.
After she told me, I picked up Snowball, went outside to sit with him and gave him a big hug for a long time. Snowball loved Pop and now he is sad, he jumps up on the chair like he’s waiting for Pop to come over and set with him.
Ma and I went outside after if got dark and we looked for the brightest star and she said that was Pop looking down from heaven and he would always guide me.
I love my Pop and I miss him, he taught me how to plant flowers and vegetables, he helped me when I rode my bike, we went swimming in the pool and we went on hikes to the mountains.
We had so much fun when I helped him paint the fence. We found an old bench that needed painting and Pop and I cleaned it up and repainted it pink and white for my garden.
Mommy and Ma are so sad, Snowball is sad, I am sad. But Ma said we are all strong and Pop wouldn’t want us to be sad because he is in heaven with Jesus and he isn’t hurting anymore.
We are sad too. Pop was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and neighbor. He will be greatly missed by all.
Steve, I can’t thank you and Sue enough for all you have done. Pop’s memories will live on.
She hugged me for at least half an hour after I told her 😓 I’m sure she’s still processing it, as we all are, but we’ll get thru this. Like you said, Pop wouldn’t want us to be sad 💙
Sometimes just a hug without words is all we need Alexandra. I thought it was so sweet how she went outside and hugged Snowball. We are strong and will get through this with all our love. Love you so much.
These are wonderful memories to have!
Thanks Amy, I have so many more to help hold me together.
Dear Lia and Martha, I am so sad, too. I am so sorry for your loss. Pop/Rich will be missed so, so much.
I”m glad the two of you have each other, and you have sweet lil Snowball as well. Hugs can do wonders. Sending you hugs across the pond.
Thank you Tamara, 59 years is a long time so I have a heart full of wonderful memories.
I apologize for not responding to your post about Rich’s passing, but it just took the wind out of me.. There’s some people in the world that bring so much goodness, love and happiness to everyone they meet, and you and Rich are two of them. My deepest condolences to you, Princess Lia, Alex and Zack. Stay strong. You know his spirit is always going to be with all of you!
And I apologize for the lateness of my replies Susan. Thank you for your kind words, Rich was indeed a special person to so many and I know the love we had is want keeps me and my family going. His spirit is all around us.
Wishing Lia, you, and Alex, and the rest of the family (Snowball included) all the strength and sending virtual hugs to you..
Thank you Vidya.
