I’m Retiring from Swagbucks
For years I have been couponing and earning points for cash and gift cards from a variety of online earning sites. My all time favorite is Swagbucks. You can earn by watching videos, playing video games, clipping coupons and even get points for using them. You can also earn by doing surveys and other online offers. Some are trial offers where you sign up for a free trial and get points but if you don’t cancel when the trial is over you will get charged each month. If you shop online, by clicking the shopping site through Swagbucks, you can earn a percentage of the amount you spent on your shopping. You can even purchase Gift Cards and earn cash back! It’s a great program for earning a few extra dollars each month. The more daily points you earn you get bonus points for making goal and if you make goal for the entire month you earn even more points. Every 1,000 points equals $10.00 in cash or gift cards. I started Swagbucks around the fall of 2012. I didn’t work on it steady but when I saw one of my friends keep writing about earning a few $100 a month, I decided it was time to take this site serious. So I started doing the tasks daily starting mid June 2013. Since then I have made the monthly bonus goal every month! But I’m retiring from Swagbucks as of this month.
For 7 years I challenged myself to complete the monthly bonus! I’m all for a challenge and this has been a great one, earning 750,000 in about 5 years and over 975,000 points total in the 7 years I’ve been with Swagbucks. If you convert these points to PayPal or Gift Cards it totals $9750.00.
Down the left side of the home page there is a list of Swagbuck promotions and a to-do list. Yes if you complete this list you earn bonus points as well!
But there comes a time when I had to close this chapter of my challenges. No I won’t totally give it up, I’ll still work on the surveys, clipping coupons and earning cash back when I need to purchase a gift card. But I’m not going to get upset if it’s an hour away from another day and I haven’t met the daily goal yet.
Speaking of purchasing gift cards, I’m making more than just points on Swagbucks. Here’s how this works, you click on the link from Swagbucks to My Gift Card Plus. Once you find the card you want, put it in your cart and you will see bonus points earned that will go on your Swagbucks ledger. If you purchase a $50.00 gift card and they offer a 10% bonus, you’ve made an extra 500 points, if they offer 2% you earn 100 points plus there are times they throw in an extra 100 points. So if I plan to shop at Lowe’s or any store listed I get a gift card, make a few extra dollars in points PLUS I’ve paid for it with my credit card so I get cash back from that also! A note on credit cards….if you can’t pay your balance in full when the statement arrives, DON’T USE ACREDIT CARD!!!
This is a blog I wrote previously about earning with credit cards and also the downfalls. http://themarthareview.com/earn-money-when-using-credit-cards/
So since July, when I haven’t even worried about making Swagbucks goal or tried to reach it, guess what? I’ve made my daily bonus points every day without even trying! So maybe there were days when I was trying too hard and now that it’s something where I don’t have to make goal, it now comes easier.
Yes, I’m retiring from Swagbucks but I won’t give it up totally, it’s in my blood to follow a challenge, I just won’t fret if I miss a daily goal now and then. If you want to check this earning site out, click here: EARN WITH SWAGBUCKS

Wellllllll, maybe part time Rich!
Wow! That’s alot of money you’ve earned! Way to go!
It adds up quickly if you work on it steady each day. I love what I get out of it and won’t retire totally Karin.
I didn’t even know Swagbucks was a thing. I don’t know that I will do it now, but it is definitely worth considering! Thank you Martha.
I usually cash out when my points get to $50 worth and drop into Paypal. I use it for birthdays and Christmas gifts Cindy!
That’s amazing Martha .The effort and hard work you put in .I need to know the secret behind your amazing energy.
Well Amrita, if I slow down, I’ll fall asleep! LOL I have to be busy constantly, I can’t just sit and watch TV without doing something else. I’m a multi tasker all the way!!
I use Swagbucks but mostly accumulate my points with Internet searches. I haven’t bothered with the other parts much. You’ve done well.
A few searching here and there add up Virginia! You ought to check out the other ways, some are easy!
I have heard about the company. Maybe I should check it out.
If you have a bit of free time each day, it’s a great earning site Amanda. An extra $50 or more each month comes in handy!
