I Visited the Cookie House
I have an exciting Friday Story Time by Lia today from our trip in upstate New York! I visited a Cookie House and it was so much fun! Ma’s cousin Tim and his wife started baking cookies and made a little house to drive around like the ice cream trucks we have in South Carolina. The home base for the Cookie House is in the beautiful Helderberg Mountains. Thursday after ma, pop, mommy and me had an exciting visit to Howe Caverns, we went to the little town of Vooreesville to visit the cookie house!
Besides the delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies, the Cookie House even makes ice cream! You can get your choice of frozen drinks, ice cream sundaes or huge ice cream cookie sandwiches! Look at the delicious Unicorn ice cream cookie sandwich! You know I love sprinkles and this was LOADED with them!
This big bucket of chocolate chip cookies was over flowing with cookies and we all had to sample them while they were hot out of the oven. On the way back to our hotel we stopped for some milk to go with the cookies for a snack that evening and the next day.
The best part was when I went inside the Cookie house and helped Jill make the cookies! They have a special machine for the cookie dough and when I turned the handle, the cookie dough dropped on the cookie sheets! How clever is that, I still make my cookies with a scoop, one cookie at a time, but some day maybe I’ll have a big cookie machine for Lia’s Sunshine Bakery! Do you see the big mixer in the back? I’ve never seen one that big!!
This is ma’s cousins, Ruth and Jack with their daughter Jill. Jill is like me, she loves to bake and sew! I had such a fun time when I visited the Cookie House. I wonder I’ll have a Lia’s Bakery Cookie house when I get bigger!
Before we left our home for our trip, ma and I made a lot of cookies and we packed them in big containers. Once in our hotel room, I made up cookie boxes for my cousin and ma’s sisters, Anne and Nancy. I had my double chocolate chip and chocolate coconut cookies plue my famous Italian drop cookies.
My aunt Nancy (ma’s younger sister) came down from Maine to visit and she was so excited when I handed her a box of Lia’s Sunshine Bakery cookies! Ma and I will have another story to tell about ma’s reunion with both her sisters, it’s the first time all three have been together in almost 30 years!
I hope you enjoyed reading about my visit to the Cookie House! If you are ever in upstate New York, be sure to check out the Cookie House schedule and give them a visit. You can also visit them on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlackSheepHoney
That looks so good. Cookies are the best.
I had so much fun Amanda! Helping to make them as great!
