I Started My Garden
It’s Friday again and I’m so excited to share with you about how I started my garden for Friday Story Time by Lia. Since we couldn’t get to the store for plants GGmama found a bag of seeds from our pumpkins we had last fall and I planted them 12 days ago.
GGpapa got the garden soil ready and made a row for me to add the pumpkin seeds. I carefully dropped the seeds in the row and then helped cover them with the soil. When I was putting the seeds in the row one by one it was the same way I added sprinkles to my cookies!
Now it was time to water the seeds but first papa put a stick on each end of the row with a piece of string so I could see where my pumpkins would be growing. It was now time to water them and wait to see if they would grow.
Last weekend when I visited with mama and papa I checked the garden and my pumpkin plants were popping out of the soil! They were very tiny but they were growing! Papa has been watering them for me everyday and I helped him again while I visited. It was so much fun to see my pumpkin plants growing , I just sat there watching them.
Look at how big they were yesterday! I’m so excited and hoping they will grow big pumpkins so we can decorate the yard like we did last fall.
Last year I was just a baby but I still helped in the garden. I picked papa some lettuce, he LOVES a big bowl of lettuce and he told me fresh from the garden lettuce is the best. I don’t think we will have a garden like last year but we can try! http://themarthareview.com/vegetable-garden-growing/
Just as I was ready to post my blog mama found this one from last year! I was so tiny, might bring you some smiles and laughs http://themarthareview.com/lia-the-baby-blogger-hard-at-work/
Do you know what mama just told me???? She said this will be my last Friday Story Time for the April Ultimate Blog Challenge! Oh no, does that mean I can’t write my stories anymore? Mama explained that the challenge is four times a year but I can still share my stories in the other months. I’m so glad because I have so much to share! I may not write every week because I have gardening, baking, craft projects and helping with Mama’s Minkys projects to do. But I will be back every Friday for the next UBC in July. WOW, my 2nd birthday will be coming up right after that challenge!
Again, thank you all for following my stories, smiles and love. I hope to see you back for the July Ultimate Blog Challenge! Until then, I’m sharing this virtual hug with everyone!
We planted pumpkin seeds too.Its the coolest to grow fast

No, I want more of Lia’s stories…..I’ll waiting to here more every Friday in other challenges…..So LIA please don’t stop…I want garden updates……I think the garden will grow the BIG pumpkin! And people will be coming from all around to see the biggest pumpkin ever grown in the world! I want that story to come to fruition!
I think you are Lia’s biggest fan Pam! If she doesn’t get the biggest pumpkin we can still make a good story out of little pumpkins! I’m sure Lia will be writing her stories at least a few times a month until the next challenge tools around in July! I’ll be sure to tag you. Thanks again for the love you send Lia 🥰
Great little garden you have going there!
We have always had a garden and even now that it’s a small one, it’s still great to teach the great grands about gardening. Thanks for stopping by Roy.
I love the look on her face when she is watching her plants grow.
Lia’s like “I’m watching you!” Can’t wait to see what she does when she gets little pumpkins Brenda!
Thank you so much for sharing Lia’s story. I look forward to July!
Hopefully by July she will have baby pumpkins Rani! Lia plans to continue to write a few stories each month until the July challenge!
how fun is that…I thought about planting a garden this year, but now I’m glad we didn’t move forward with those plans as I wouldn’t have been able to care for it.
There’s always next year for your garden Nancy. You have way too much on your plate, hope you are continuing to feel better each day.
Great photos. I’m glad you started your garden.
I love gardening Amanda and I’m glad Lia is enjoying it too.
A virtual hug for Lia! She seems so happy. It’s a joy to see her, no matter what she’s doing.
