I Made it Myself! Whipping Cream Pound Cake

I found a delicious looking whipping cream pound cake recipe online and wanted to try it. The picture looked so mouth watering and I could almost smell the cake. Now this may come as a shock to some but Lia wasn’t home so I made it myself. For those who don’t know Lia, she is my 2 year old Great granddaughter who loves to bake. If I take an egg out of the fridge, she drags her chair over to the counter, grabs her apron and says she’s going to bake. I can’t wait for Lia’s and my next baking project but this one is mine and I made it myself!

This cake has whipping cream and real butter. It was so smooth as I was alternating the flour and whipping cream to the rest of the ingredients. Since Lia wasn’t home, I had to lick the bowl all by myself after I poured it in my bundt pan. I’m sure she would have eaten half the batter because it was so delicious!

The hardest part was waiting an hour and 15 minutes for the pound cake to bake. The top was so crunchy but the inside was soft and moist! The only substitution I made was I omitted the vanilla and added almond flavoring.

Of course I couldn’t wait until the cake cooled to sample it and my suspicion was right on, this was the most delicious, melt in your mouth pound cake I’ve ever had! Warm pound cake is the best.

Now some of you know I LOVE reddi whip so of course I had to add a small amount on top of the cake. But it’s so rich and moist without any topping I can take it either way. If you want some other ideas, I can see drizzling raspberry sauce over the top, lemon glaze, have a slice with a side of ice cream or topped with whipped topping mixed with pineapple or your favorite fruit. Oh that sounds like what I’ll put on my next piece of this delicious pound cake. I sure hope I don’t eat it all up before Lia gets home. But it’s just sooooo good!

This is the site where I found the Whipping Cream Pound Cake recipe by Paula. https://www.callmepmc.com/whipping-cream-pound-cake-recipe She also has other mouthwatering pound cake recipes including a strawberry one and a coconut cream cheese pound cake. That’s going to be my next one to try. But I’ll need Lia here to help me out!

This will be Lia’s face when she gets home saying, “MAMA YOU MADE A CAKE WITHOUT MY HELP?” And I’ll tell her it wasn’t easy but I made it myself!
