I Made Donuts

Hi everyone, welcome back to the July Ultimate Blog Challenge AND Friday Story Time by Lia! I’m so excited to see my friends and meet some new blogger friends. Today topic is to write about something fun and that’s just what I did! I’m going to share about when I made donuts. It’s a super quick and easy recipe!

Who doesn’t like donuts but some recipes take a long time to prepare. But Ma and I found a recipe that takes only TWO ingredients! Yes only two and no yeast!

All you need is self-rising flour and regular yogurt. Since we didn’t have self-rising flour, ma added baking powder to the regular flour and that’s what makes the donuts rise instead of using yeast. I mixed the two ingredients together then using a cookie scoop, I very carefully dropped the dough into the oil. You have to be very careful because the oil is super hot. I kept my bench to the side instead of in front of the stove to keep the oil from spitting on me.

I like making videos and this is me showing you how the donuts are going to look.

Look at my donuts, they look just like the picture and taste so good. Ma took the donuts out of the hot oil, let them drain on a paper towel then I dipped them in cinnamon and sugar. They taste so good especially when they are warm and they are so quick and easy to make! Quick to eat right away too! Here is the link to the recipe if you want to make some. https://kirbiecravings.com/2-ingredient-donuts/ Let me know if you try them and how you like them!

Maybe when I get older I’ll work at Krispy Kreme like my mommy does! All the workers love me and I even have my own badge and hat. I’m ready to work and make donuts! Thanks for visiting my donut blog, I’ll be back next week with another Friday Story Time by Lia. I wonder what story I will write about…..hmmm, I have a few ideas. See you next Friday!!

  1. Lia, your donuts look delicious! Cinnamon and sugar are my favorites. I will have to give your recipe a try! Love your video and I think it is wonderful that you have a Krispy Kreme badge and hat. Excellent!!! I think working in a donut restaurant must be pretty wonderful. I would expect most people are very happy to be getting something so sweet and yummy! Have a wonderful weekend of fun! Did you beat Ma at Uno?

Hi Cindy, cinnamon and sugar are my favorite too! This recipe is so easy but I have to be very careful when using hot oil. Ma makes sure to stay with me and help on that end. Yes I beat Ma AND pop at Uno! Thanks for visiting my donuts!

Lia, I need you to make me some donuts. My donut-making efforts don’t come out as nice as yours!

In my hometown, we used to wait for the red sign to light up at the Krispy Kreme shop– it’s when the glazed donuts were coming out of the oven. Those were the best days! Thanks for reminding me of some good times.

    Have a lovely weekend!

When I go to work my my mommy, I watch the dough go in the big container and plop them into the shelves to drop into the hot oil and come out as donuts! I like to tell the customers what will happen next! Ma always likes to stop when the hot light sign is on too. Glad my blog brought back memories for you Dominque. Someday maybe I’ll be working at KK full time.

  3. Tamara says:

Lia, I had no idea your Mom worked for KK, how awesome. I’m impressed that you know how to make your own donuts. I have never attempted to do so. Hot oil scares me.
So did you win at UNO?
Have a nice weekend and hug Ma for me!

    • Martha says:

Hi Tamara, Mommy loves working at KK and I love when I can go with her to visit the workers and her boss. He’s always giving me donuts! My donuts are so easy and delicious, but yes you have to be very careful with the hot oil. YES I won UNO when playing with my Ma and pop! They tell me I’m a UNO and Tic Tac Doe champion!

  4. The Donuts sound easy to make and look great. Lia is a creative entrepreneur. She is a hard worker I can tell.

Lia says, these donuts are so easy and delicious Amrita. I do worry about the hot oil, but Lia is so careful when working around the oil or hot oven. I hope she remembers these memories when she gets my age! LOL

They are delicious Jeanine and almost remind me of my grandmother’s donuts made with yeast! These are great to make up for last minute guests. So quick and easy!
