Hungry on Wordless Wednesday

Before the coronavirus came to town we would grab a take out meal now and then. Since March we haven’t been anywhere except our kitchen! I’m sharing some mouthwatering sandwiches our granddaughter made and they look as good if not better than going to the deli! Alexandra might weigh about 100 pounds but she can pack in a sandwich this size without any problem. So are you hungry on Wordless Wednesday? Check out the McDonald plate the sandwiches are served on, they are from the 1970’s era!

Of course we still need desserts and smores’ are one of our desserts of choice! Has your eating habits changed since the virus, do you prepare more meals at home now or do you do curbside pickup? When we’re hungry on Wordless Wednesday or any other day, it’s time to build a huge sandwich! I doubt if you could order a sandwich this size for how much it cost to make at home.

  1. Never knew that McDonald’s got served on plates. Great Dagwoods!

I don’t think they actually served their burgers on plates Roy. Way back in the ’70’s they had the dishes. We were able to hang on to 4 plates.

We (my grandpa and I) are doing a mix of cooking from home and pickup meals. I love sandwiches though.

Wow! We watched the movie “Dave” (it’s an older movie from 1993) and he made a huge sandwich with even shavings of carrot in it! You’ve inspired me! (It’s lunch time and the grandboy is with us.) 😂

    • Martha says:

Shaved carrots, I’ll have to let Alex know about that Lori! The nice thing about sandwiches, you can add just about anything to them! Enjoy your grandboy!

  5. Now, those are some awesome sandwiches!! have started adding more to my sandwiches, too, so I don’t feel hungry, but I am not even sure I could manage those. They sure look good, though!

Alex is a sandwich pro Jeanine. I like to made my sandwiches on a piece of lettuce when I want something different. Other times I’ll whip up tuna, chicken or egg salad and have them with a multi grain crackers. Ok,now I’m hungry! LOL

We don’t do Curbside that much but we do go out to Eat at local restaurants I have worked with in the past to support them and help keep them open. As for a Sandwich that size I can’t see how she can eat it. It would make several meals for me. But Charlie and David could eat it without a problem. As for S’mores I don’t eat them but Charlie does and he and his best friend Bradley like to use my Fire Pit to make them in with Roasted Wienies for Hot Dogs when they camp out.

Yes these sandwiches are too much for me too Glenda but Alex packs them in. We are in a hotspot so don’t want to chance even curbside. So many restaurants here opened then had to close because the employees got the virus. We are in a tourist area and they opened things way too soon. IMO.

I just got hungry all of a sudden after reading and seeing these mouth-watering foodie pics 🙂

LOL There’s nothing better than a custom made Dagwood Jojo. If there is one good thing about not going out, it’s saving money on takeout(

  8. Barb says:

    Wow, that’s quite the spread!

    • Martha says:

My granddaughter knows how to make a great spread Barb! As he’s so tiny, it’s hard to believe she can devour an entire sandwich in one sitting.

I’ll take that hamburger. Mostly I look at recipes and save to my Pinterest because I don’t have the time, or groceries to make most of it. I love that you post some $ saving tips and recipes too. We stay busy here most days with a 9 1/2 month old and a 2 1/2 yr. old.(it really does take a “Village”)

    • Martha says:

I’m glad my money saving tips and recipes help you Wendy. Every little bit we can save is a help. I grilled chicken on the 4th of July and it lasted for 3 totally different meals!

I love sandwiches. While following keto I make a keto bread just for a sandwich or sometimes I just use a Romaine lettuce wrap and it works pretty well as long as I don’t add to many items
