How I Got Started in My Niche
Since I already had a blog topic for yesterday, I’m using the suggested topic a day late. Yesterday the topic was to let people know how I got started in my niche or market.
I started my blog on December 25, 2014 mainly as a place to share my product reviews. I had one category, Product and Book Reviews and that’s how The Martha Review got it’s niche.
Now if I hadn’t been adventurous, that would be the end of this post but it’s far from over! Little by little I came up with different blogs and added categories. I love sharing my quick, inexpensive, and delicious meals plus healthy eating so I have them In The Kitchen category. I also have a Healthy Living and Wellness and Beauty and Skin Care categories where I share helpful topics on those subjects. Since I enjoy helping others, you can find some great articles in my Helpful How To’s.
A few years ago my now 23 year old granddaughter joined in with me and added her category, Alex’s Articles and she writes some awesome blogs about health and life in general. One of my favorites she wrote is http://themarthareview.com/howd-you-pick-that-name/
But the cream of the crop category was added a few months ago. Lia’s Likings the Baby Blogger is a category where my now 10 month old great granddaughter shares her opinions on some products she’s receives. I think Lia is the youngest product reviewer around! But her other blogs are just silly ones that make people laugh and smile. Lia’s blogs are all about happiness and sharing the love. This gives a little introduction on Princess Lia http://themarthareview.com/lias-likings-the-baby-blogger/ For those who already know me, they know I am quite a storyteller and love to add lots of humor to my blogs.
I also have My Photography and Gardening, Birds, Nature & More categories because I LOVE to share photos that I’ve taken of what ever is in my way including my vegetable garden. Flowers, birds, the ocean and of course Princess Lia Faith steals the show quite often.
I do write a few serious posts now and then when I enjoy sharing some Helpful Money Saving Tips and recycling items to save the landfill. When I do write a post that is a tear-jerker, I usually put a “tissue warning” since some of my posts tend to be emotional but have happy endings!
So here I am, 70 years old, a grandmother to seven and a great grandmama to seven and blogging away in wherever my brain takes me! To my new visitors and my seasoned readers, thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoy my variety of blogs along with my humorous storytelling that I’ve been writing for the past 4 1/2 years. This is my story and I’m sticking to it about how I got started in my niche!
Martha, you are blessing to the blogging community. Love that your love for writing has been passed to the next generations. Baby Lia is the cutest blogger around. Just saying 😉 . I have too have changed my categories and probably won’t be the last time, I believe is necessary as the perspective of your blog advances. Great to know more about your blog.
I’m having so much fun “helping” Lia with her blogs and my granddaughter Alex writes some awesome blogs. Thanks for your kind words and thanks for visiting!
Hats off to you! I hope that your adventurous spirit spread from your person to my person!

I live by my motto, “if you want to explore deeper oceans, you first have to leave sight of the shore.” I enjoy learning every day. Thanks for visiting!
