Hebrews Verse 10:24

Today is Spiritual Sunday and I’m reading Verse 10:24 in the book of Hebrews. Depending on which Bible version you read, the wording may be a bit different but the meaning is the same.

These are the words from the little bible that my mom sent to my dad back in 1944 when he was in Germany during World War 2.

Hebrews Verse 10:24

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works”

One meaning for this verse could be to provoke in a positive way and encourage one another to love and help each other. Another meaning is said to love and do good deeds for others.

Prayer for Hebrews 10:24

May the Lord touch our hearts; in all our gatherings help us to spur one another on toward love and good deeds so that we may live out the glorious testimony of Jesus through our daily lives. I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen!

I found this prayer online when searching Google but it did not have any credits.

Rich was one of the most helpful, kind and loving people I have ever known. He never met a stranger and would go out of his way to help anyone. He would put others before him and go without to make sure others had what they needed.

Why did I choose Hebrews Verse 10:24 for today’s Spiritual Sunday? Because when Rich passed away on Easter morning, I opened my bible and it just happened to be on Hebrews 10. I scrolled down through the verses and I stopped when I came to verse 24. I didn’t realize it until a few weeks later when I received the death certificate… the time of Rich’s death was 10:24.

I know God had a plan for Rich and I know although he is physically not here with us, his spirit lives on and he is guiding his family through this difficult chapter in our lives.

Thank you Kristine, I believe we were put on this earth to do good to others and love our neighbors. That was Rich, he would be the one to always help someone before he thought of himself. Since I lost him, I’m finding so many scriptures that fit perfectly in his and my life.

  2. What a treasure to have the little Bible that your mom sent to your dad during World War II. To has such a connection to a verse must be really special. So sorry for your loss of Rich.

Thank you Jodi, I love dad’s little Bible with mom’s handwritten note in it. Yes it was really special when I say the time of death after I had read the verse.

  3. Martha, how awesome! I had never studied this verse before. But the verse is very powerful. And the fact that Rich passed at 10:24– a message from Heaven for sure. 👏🏻🙏🏻💗

There are so many things I can’t comprehend about all that has happened since God called Rich home. Things that he “had to get done” the early part of March almost like God was preparing him without us knowing. I do feel this is indeed a message from Heaven. Thank you Kebba, hugs and love to you.
