Healthy Lifestyle
I’m working on a template for success with my healthy eating plan. But I realized it’s not just eating that I need to be healthy, it’s a healthy lifestyle. Today is Day 19 for the Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge and I’m sharing what I hope to be able to achieve.
I’m in my 7th week of my healthy eating plan and I’m learning new recipes for delicious and healthy meals plus yummy snacks. While I won’t be posting nightly and weekly updates after the end of December, I will be sticking to my healthy eating plan and sharing some delicious recipes along the way.
But my newest addition is to add more exercise into my plan. I’ve tried this numerous times but things get in the way. Back in 2015 I started working on my cardio bike every day. I didn’t go overboard, worked slowly starting with 5 minutes a day and gradually increased it to 20 minutes and adding other exercises in. I did great and kept my routine until mid 2016 when we were taking monthly and sometimes more trips to Ohio to be with our granddaughter when she was going through major health issues. After she had her surgery in November 2016, there was recovery so the trips continued. I kept saying when things quiet down I’ll start back up. But with me, once I stop something it’s hard to get back in the groove.
But I figured what better time to start now, just before the new year begins! I’ll have to start out slow like I did before but I can do this! Can’t I? I sure hope so because I’m not getting any younger. I’ll by 72 years old in March and my goal is to be fit as a fiddle by then. I even have my headset that I received for review to listen to some Bluegrass and country music! Along with more exercising I need to add more water to my daily intake and then work on the saggy, baggy skin that is appearing out of nowhere.
Now that Rusty is getting older and listening better when walking on leash, my next step is to add taking him for daily walks so I can get more outdoor exercise. He loves it outdoors and looks like he’s ready to go.
I’ve enjoyed doing my weekly updates on my Healthy Eating Plan sharing my meals so maybe I need to do the same with exercising to help me along with my newest challenge for my template for success. I think I can, I think I can, I KNOW I can do it!
I know you can. too, Martha! Good for you!! You inspire me.
Thanks Jeanine, I just need to stay focused and I think if I do weekly updates it will help me stay on track.
Martha, aymen! I know you can! What great goals. And you have a lot of love around you. I’m confident everyone wants you to feel great!
Thanks Kebba, I knew I needed to add something more to my healthy eating so I’m hoping this will be another step to keep me healthy both inside and out.
Excellent! By my 70th in March, I hope to be in top physical condition. My dog Pearl and I already walk 5-8 miles a day! Soon I will add riding on a Street Strider I have purchased and waiting for delivery. It has received high ratings as the best cardio workout on the market!
WOW that a good amount to walk each day Kate! I’m thinking of started Rusty and me out with 1/2 mile on the road then gradually increase it to a few miles at a time. We live on a loop road and it’s about 3 miles total. I’d be happy with that. Would love to see your Street Strider, I only have an older model cardio bike but it does the trick! Oh cool that we both have March bdays! Mine is the 12th, when’s yours?
One of my goals next year is to get back on track with my exercising. I have a follow up with my nurse in February. I also have a blood test in late January-Yuck.
That’s another one of my goals too Amanda! I can’t to hand exercising because of my back problems but I want to build up my cardio routine. I’m not getting any younger! LOL Hope your follow up and blood work give you good reports.
