Gotta Stay Busy

One thing that keeps my mind from going crazy is I gotta stay busy. Last week in my Thoughts blog I shared some pictures of my new borders around the backyard gardens. I got the concrete pieces from an ad on Market Place.

About a week before I saw that ad, I purchased some edging blocks for the back of the house. My neighbor still had extra landscaping stones she didn’t want so I hauled them over and between patio blocks from my old grill pad, her stones and the edging blocks I made a border along the back of the house. Grass never seemed to grow good there and it’s so much nicer now not to have mud splattered up the siding when in rains.

Once I start a project it seems to turn into another one. Last fall I made a new walkway from my driveway to the side garage door. I decided to extend it to have a place to store my Christmas manger out of the mud. This was a fairly simple project once I got the excess junk removed and the area leveled. All I had to do was match the blocks that were there from my walkway.

I filled in the areas along the fence that were too narrow for a block with stones and now I have a place to store my manger. I have also turned it into a “cartport” for my garden cart.

I love turning something unwanted into something useful and these concrete pieces and unwanted stones were a few of the many things I’ve used to repurpose and reuse. I will share a few other interesting Market Place finds in another blog.
