Going, Going, Gone for Wordless Wednesday
Our neighbor two doors from us had their tree taken door last week so Lia pulled her chair up and sat and watched the show. The tree surgeon kept looking over at Lia and waving to her! I thought going, going, done for Wordless Wednesday was an appropriate title caption.
Lia thought it was exciting to watch and see the tree branches drop to the ground. The tree was taken down because of the weight and height of it and the homeowner was worried when hurricanes came through. It also was so large it covered her entire backyard and she had no grass at all. I loved how perfectly formed the branches were and now we view an empty space. The tree is going, going, gone for Wordless Wednesday.
WooHoo! This is as close as you have EVER come to wordless. 130 words! (Clearly not wordless- but not loquacious either!)
(You do note I NEVER do wordless- because I never shut up!)
So there might be hope for me after all Roy! It’s hard for me to shut up but someday I’ll do a totally wordless Wednesday!
That was probably fun to watch! It’s much better to watch a tree go down when you want it to — unlike our 16-year-old orange tree with died in the February freeze in Texas. I haven’t gotten over that yet!
Lia gets to have all the fun! LOL
Oh my, how sad to lose your orange tree Dominique! It was fun to watch this one but kinda sad also to see such a beautiful tree go down.
Hi Martha and Lia, wow, what an exciting thing to watch as a giant tree slowly disappears. I feel bad for the tree though, because I love to hug trees. Trees are my favorite thing in nature, I research them, paint them, and sing to them. Although I do understand your neighbors are protecting themselves and others from possible disastrous natural events. I hope they can find some safer tree to replace their old friend who went going, going, gone! Sending lots of love and gratitude. Jaime
Yes Jaime it was exciting to watch the tree surgeon climb higher and higher but it was sad to see such a beautiful tree go down. The bradford pear trees have a habit of just splitting off at the large heavy branches and the homeowner was worried if it went down in a store it would take her house with it. I’ll have to share my story of the Angel tree, a beautiful 400+ year old oak tree.
Wow! Going, going, gone is right. That was a big tree!! I can see why that was exciting to watch. I bet the owner was a little sad to see it go, though. I would have pruned it.
It was exciting Jeanine but sad at the same time. This tree was so beautiful and it made a great back drop when I took rainbow and sky photos.
Great photos.
Thanks Amanda.
