Getting Vaccinated
Just a short and sweet public service reminder…. PLEASE THINK ABOUT GETTING VACCINATED AND WEARING A MASK. I know many won’t or don’t want to but I’m thinking back when I was maybe four or five years old. Everyone had to receive a polio vaccine before being able to go to school. It wasn’t a choice, we had to get one.
So would you rather have a few side effects from the Covid vaccine or would you rather take a chance of possibly getting Covid? For hubby and I we opted for the vaccine as soon as it was available in our area. Now we are waiting for the booster, at least for Rich since he has a compromised immune system.
Currently the Covid vaccine is your choice whether you want to get it or not. Currently one of my granddaughters, her husband and their 6 1/2 year old son have Covid. Their 5 year old son doesn’t show symptoms yet.
They don’t know where or who got it first but when her husband came down with symptoms he first thought it was food poisoning. My granddaughter then got the same. Now here’s the rest of the story. She just had a baby last Tuesday, their symptoms appeared on Wednesday. Hopefully their little girl and 5 year old will escape Covid but we’re not betting on it.
Could this be avoided if everyone was vaccinated like we were when the polio vaccine was administered? Not sure if anyone knows for sure but hubby and I weren’t taking any chances.
Lia still wears her mask and makes sure to remind others to wear one also. http://themarthareview.com/lia-says-please-wear-a-mask/ Have you or do you plan to on getting vaccinated for Covid?
I got vaccinated as soon as I was eligible to receive my vaccine. And, yes, I had side effects which were not pleasant. But it was okay (except when you have to feed the cat and smell the cat food with a queasy stomach!). After three days, I felt much better. I am grateful to be vaccinated and I would like to see everyone in the world, especially in poor countries, have the opportunity to get vaccinated.
I’m sorry you had side effects Alice but hopefully they have passed and now we will feel safer since receiveing the vaccine.
Martha, my husband got his shots early b/c the VA called him! So he was the earliest vaccinated person in the family. The earliest appointment I, as a civilian, could get was in March, and I got both my shots. At my healing office, I even wear a mask and take people’s temperatures with a temperature gun. I don’t mind wearing a mask and such, if we can out -strategize this crazy pandemic!
That’s great to check temperatures at your healing office Kebba. We have to be so careful during this pandemic.
I will never get that vaccine and I won’t allow any of my kids to get it. All 3 of my kids had COVID last year. They wore the stupid mask last year all the time to school and still got COVID at the end of the last school year. I never got it. My husband got the stupid vaccine. As you can see I am 100% against it. I am hearing that reproductive health can affect people that are taking the vaccine and I won’t take that risk that my kids can’t have kids someday. Also the vaccine is made out of baby parts which I am 100% against Abortion.
It’s my understanding that the vaccine does not contain fetal cells Naomi however they have some fetal cell lines growing from the ’70’s and ’80’s for testing. On going modern fetal tissue harvesting to create vaccines is not being used. But we all have to decide what is best for our health since many things can cause reporductive problems.
Whole families getting COVID is worrying. My prayers with your grand daughter and her family. Its important to get vaccinated on time. The Mask is a super power
Thank you Amrita. Lia is still promoting masks when she goes out!
Like you, my husband and I are both double vaccinated. I got mine done as soon as my age could register for appointments. And moved my 2nd shot up earlier than scheduled as soon as that as an option too. Personally donèt understand the high level of resistance in many areas. Here in Nova Scotia, we have pretty high compliance and are getting close to 75% of adults in the province having at least their first dose of vaccine, We haven’t yet had talk of boosters. Stay safe.
There are many in the states that won’t get vaccinated Mary and to each their own. But will hubby’s immune compromised condition, we didn’t want to take any additional chances.
Hi Martha and Lia, I am praying for your family’s health to return to normal. Thank you for sharing your story and voice concerning the pandemic. My mom and dad also recommend the vaccine because my mom as a young girl was affected by polio for several years, and my dad has health issues in his later years that make him more vulnerable. Sending lots of love and hugs. Jaime
The Covid is South Carolina is worse now than when it first started. The kids and grands are doing better but so many school are closed again. We’re waiting for our boosters, hoping it will just go away but I’m not betting on it! Love and hugs to you Jaime.
I wear my mask and I try not to leave the house. I feel safer this way.
Hopefully someday things will get back to normal Amanda.
