Garage Sale Was a Rain Out

Today was our community wide spring sale but our garage sale was a rain out! So many neighbors look forward to the sale to clean out their unwanted stuff and also to check the other sales in the neighborhood. The weather didn’t look good and as soon as it got light out there was a beautiful rainbow greeting us. There were heavy storm bands showing on the radar and although many had already set up for the sale we decided to have a rain date next Saturday but still keep it open today just in case shoppers would be stopping by. And stopping by they did!

Lia’s Sunshine Bakery was also set up and ready to go but instead of setting it out in the yard we kept it on the porch under cover. A little rain didn’t stop Lil’ Ms. Sunshine from having her bake sale fundraiser and we had so many people stopping just for Lia’s bake sale!

Even though our garage sale was a rain out many people still came for Lia’s Sunshine Bakery Alzheimer’s Fundraiser! So many people ran between the rain drops to get some delicious doggy and human baked goods from Lia! 💜💜💜💜 She even received some tips from some of the shoppers who said it was for Lia! One lady gave her a $2.00 bill and Lia looked at it with a confused look since she has never even seen a $2.00 bill! She was non-stop busy from 8AM until about noon, smiling the entire time! I’m so proud of how Lia thinks of others and wants to help with the Alzheimer’s Fundraiser in memory of her great, great grandmother and our little neighbor friend.

When it was all over, Lia had received over $500.00 in donations for her Alzheimer’s fundraiser with her total so far of $1645.00! She baked steady yesterday after school and it was well worth it! Thank you to everyone who has donated and helped to find a cure for Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

I thought for sure Lia would crash for a bit after the sale but she’s like an energizer battery and kept on going! She got a PlayDoh Slime Volcano for Easter and decided to put that together after we ordered pizza. Oh the fun she had as I was trying to stay awake! LOL

We will have the garage sale rain date next Saturday and may even take orders from more doggy and human goodies!!

I started my blog on Christmas Day 2014 mainly to review products I received. Since then it has evolved into many other categories of lifestyles, family, money saving ideas, low cost, delicious and healthy meals plus other surprise posts. My granddaughter has her own category, Alex's Articles and the latest addition to my blog is my great granddaughter now has her category, Lia's Likings The Baby Blogger! Lia started blogger at 8 months old and she now has a Friday Story Time blog you won't want to miss! I welcome you to join the conversation, ask a question, give a suggestion or leave a comment on any blog post. I hope you enjoy Lia's Likings, she has some great posts that will make you smile!

Thank you Florence. We’ve had people ask if she ever plays but for Lia, she would rather bake or garden! She loves helping others and I’m so proud of her with this endeavor.

I am surprised by the two dollar bill too. Canada abandoned their two dollar bill decades ago. Wasn’t there an expression “as phoney as a two dollar bill”?
With the rain date set for next week, I guess you have a topic for the blog next weekend. 😉

I think that expression came about before the $2 bill Doug. LOL We see them every now and then but this was a first for Lia! Yes we have a topic but Lia will be with her grandparents next week so I’m on my own! LOL

I am always amazed at Lia’s smile – it brought the shine through on a rainy day for many, I am sure
