Favorite Mugs and Cups
I remember one of my blogger friend’s shared her favorite mugs and cups she used and at the time I told her I was going to steal her idea! So today I’m sharing some of the favorite mugs and cups in our family.
When Alexandra and her brother were younger they always called their grandpa “papa” and I was “mama” for the longest time. I found a “papa” mug and my hubby used it every morning for his coffee for many years.
As Alex and Zac got a bit older they outgrow “papa” and “mama” and changed our names to “pop” and “ma” which has stuck with us not only with them but even the neighbor children. Lia’s little friend Carlos ran over to pop this past weekend and with the biggest smile said, “Hi pop!”
Alexandra gave us these mugs for Christmas and even though she doesn’t call us by these names, I love them! They bring back so many wonderful memories of when Alex and Zac were younger. They are even big enough for a cup of soup!
I love this happy face mug! When I saw the smiling penguin, I knew I had to get it for Alex since she loves penguins! Just seeing it sitting on the counter makes me smile!
This is a very special tea cup I received about fifteen years ago from a friend. I was so surprised when it arrived with a package of tea biscuits! I love sipping tea and thinking of my friend when I use this cup.
But my favorite of all my mugs is a mug I gave to my mom for her birthday long, long ago. My mom passed away in 2000 and I have had it since then. As the saying goes, my whole world blossoms when I think of my mom. My mom was the best and I miss her so much but all the memories of the past, forever in my heart will last.
You didn’t think I would leave Lia’s favorite tea cup out did you? She has an adorable little butterfly tea set and loves to have tea parties with me and also her imaginary friends. Lia has a few teacups but this set is her favorite.
I hope you had fun seeing my favorite mugs and cups on this Monday CCBC blog day! Do you any favorite mugs or cups?
Those are cute mugs! I do have a favorite tea cup but I have lost track of it in one move or another. So I may have to find a new favorite.
Hopefully it will show up in a box that is still packed up Jeanine!
Hi Martha and Lia, lovely set of mugs you have to share! My favorite are Lia’s butterfly tea cups, they are so dainty and perfect for tea parties. My grandmother hand painted tea cups, saucers, and tea pots for several years. My mother kept the entire set for her kids. She has them hanging on the walls in her kitchen for decoration and for her memory, similar to your mother’s mug you have to remind you. I have a difficult time holding glass mugs with my disability so I have my go-to mugs now made of silicone that are great for keeping things hot or cold with fitted lids. Thank you for sharing your fun mug blog. Sending lots of love and gratitude. Jaime
Wow, what a special gift from your grandmother to hand paint tea sets and for your mom to hang them up. What beautiful memories!
You have lots of cool mugs. Our mugs don’t survive long LOL. I really don’t understand why! I really like Lia’s tea set — it’s really pretty.
This is a fun post@
Thanks Dominique! I have many more, maybe I’ll do a part two for the August UBC!
Such pretty mugs you have Martha. I like this idea myself. I have a few I use all the time.
I’d love to see your mugs Brenda! I forgot that Kebba shared hers and I mentioned I would follow!
What cute mugs.
Thanks Amanda!
