FATTY LIVER HEALTHY EATING
It’s been some time since I’ve shared my dinners on my blog and I figured since I am just starting my Fatty Liver Healthy Eating plan , this would be the perfect time. I don’t want to call it this diet since I’m not wanting to lose weight, just eat healthy and try to reverse the issues with my liver. So it’s going to be my Healthy Eating for my Fatty Liver and I’ll do research along the way to see what delicious meals I can come up with, for both hubby and me. If you missed my first blog about Fatty Liver Disease, here’s the link: http://themarthareview.com/fatty-liver-disease/
The last two dinners I prepared were by following the information I’ve found on sites about the right foods to eat. My first meal was grass-fed steak which is full of protein and home-grown string beans with a hard-boiled egg. Eggs are okay but the yolks are better for you than the whites. It was a delicious meal but nothing different from what we have been eating.
The next night I had wild caught Sockeye salmon, which is in the HEALTHY FATS foods, with my homemade raspberry sauce. I picked up a jar of raspberry jelly and as I was in the checkout line, I read that it had high fructose corn syrup. That’s a NO-NO!! So I scurried back to the jelly aisle and found a jar that was all natural, NO sugar or corn syrup, instead it was flavored with other types of fruit. That works for me! I also picked up a fresh head of broccoli. Broccoli has a variety of nutrients from fiber and protein to vitamins A, C, and B6, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and iron, as well as antioxidants that are all good for your liver. I also bought brown rice since that is in the WHOLE GRAIN foods that stabilize blood sugar levels.
*******I grilled the salmon, marinated it in my raspberry sauce along with the fresh steamed broccoli, adding a few pieces of onion for flavor on the BBQ grill while the brown rice was cooking inside. I even had iced tea, but not sweet! I brewed orange tea last night and realized that the orange gave it a delicious sweet taste without sugar! Both these meals were delicious and healthy for my liver! Of course both meals were super inexpensive plus I have 2 more meals from the salmon as I cut it up in three pieces. BON APPETIT!!

Glad you enjoy them Glenda. Since I’ve researched this, I find that it’s basically just a healthy eating plan and I’m getting use to it.

Maybe I should hold off on dinner posts until after 4 PM Paul! LOL But if you like salmon, this sauce is delicious! Thanks for the visit.
Sounds and looks delicious. I have Crohn’s disease, although lucky that it causes me little trouble now, so try to eat as much fresh, unprocessed food as possible. I do have a sweet tooth though, and occasionally eat some really naughty things, but I do enjoy porridge and lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, especially broccoli.
Thanks Robert, it was. I learned from my research that processed foods are bad for the liver also. I love fruits and vegetables, plus have a sweet tooth but hoping the natural sweetness of the fruits will work! Thanks for visiting.
Hi Martha, I love salmon. It is one of my favourite fish, next to orange roughy. Now, grilling it in raspberry sauce sounds really good. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve made a few different sauces for salmon but the raspberry is by far my favorite. The other cool thing, I use leftovers to drizzle on ice cream! Thanks for stopping by Celestial.
Thanks for the wonderful recipes for a fatty liver!
