Eye the Beauty for Wordless Wednesday
Hubby and I were out driving around town the other day and I started snapping photos of some of nature’s beauty. I hope you enjoy Eye the Beauty for Wordless Wednesday as much as I enjoyed taking the photos. Of course as usual I’m adding words to give you descriptions of the beautiful nature right in our town.
South Carolina is known for some beautiful Southern Live Oak trees, many are hundreds of years old. Many of the Live Oak trees have a curly, mossy looking plant hanging around it. This is Spanish moss however it is not a moss but instead it is a flowering plant which grows hanging from tree branches. Some have called it Grandpa’s Beard. Isn’t this just breathtaking?
Wisteria is another beautiful flowering plant that grows around and through the trees. Driving around towns in South Carolina is so colorful when you see the trees loaded with Wisteria vines hanging off the branches.
I just liked this old tree stump that is in between our granddaughter’s yard and their neighbor. I can picture it with bird houses hanging from it.
As a finale to Eye the Beauty for Wordless Wednesday, it’s just a plain old tree behind our house, nothing fancy or pretty vines hanging off it. The beauty I see it this is the bright red male Cardinal sitting on the branch. When I see a red Cardinal, I think of my loved ones that have gone to Heaven. One of them is stopping by to say hello.
If you would like to see an awesome Life Oak that is estimated between 300 and 400 years old, this is a blog I wrote a few years ago when we visited the Angel Tree near Charleston, South Carolina. The views are breathtaking!

Lovely pictures Martha. I really loved the silver oak tree and the purple flowers.
Spring is my favorite season Shubhra. I love when the flowers and trees start blooming! Thanks for taking a tour of the trees with me.
We just drove through SC coming home to FL and I noticed the wisteria forests lining the highway. They are breathtaking! And live oaks are my favorite trees! Beautiful photos!
I thought I heard you beep Debi! LOL Yes, this time of year is breathtaking for sure!
These pictures are just beautiful! Being a southern girl I really appreciate the beauty we have here. I especially like the Wisteria. We have it here in many of our trees. Also the red cardinal adds so much beauty. We have many that fly around in our yard…what a blessing. Thanks for sharing these beautiful images.
All the beauty we have around is like a breath of fresh air Livvie! The best season in the south. Thanks for visiting!
Love the wisteria and wish it grew well down here in Florida. Your pictures are beautiful.
I’ll send you pictures each year Bonnie! We don’t have any in our yard but there is plenty around.
I love oak trees!! And your pictures are beautiful! Thanks for sharing them, Martha.
I’m amazed at how old some of the oak trees are Jeanine. It’s actually against the SC law to cut a Live Oak Tree down, which is a good thing!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful nature photos. Love the wisteria.
They are like a breath of spring air Eydie. Oh, it’s spring that way! Thanks for visiting!
