Emotions of Happiness – Lia’s 2nd Birthday Party
Today’s topic of the Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge is to write about something that evokes emotions. Of course for me the first thing that comes to mind is emotions of happiness. This goes along with the blog I wrote yesterday about Memories are So Precious.
Evoke: to bring a memory, feeling or image into the mind. Emotion: a feeling such as happiness or joy which can be caused by something that you are in or the people you are with.
Emotion of Happiness Lia’s South Carolina Birthday Party
Yes it’s another birthday party for Princess Lia Faith! This one was for her friends in our neighborhood. It’s actually her third party, first it was her Indiana birthday, then it was a party at her gramma and grampa’s (daddy’s mom and dad) and now one at our house! Talk about emotions of happiness, this little sweetheart sure is loved! The party theme was butterflies so I came up with the idea to make a butterfly path to get to Lia’s party. We marked the path with metal poles, put a butterfly in each pole and (tried) to wrap with crepe paper. It was quite windy so that had a mind of its own and fluttered around like the butterflies! Next I got a box ready and Alex wrote, “Follow the butterfly path to Lia’s party>” Everything was ready, now all Lia had to do was relax and wait, just like a Princess!
Due to Covid it was a small party but this was the first time Lia, Layla and Carlos have all been together since the beginning of March and a well needed together time! Layla and Lia have been friends since they were born (Layla is about 6 weeks older than Lia) and their mommies have been friends since they were about 6 or 7 years old! Lia was 4 months old when she met Carlos at his 1st birthday party and he reached right for her hand! The two became best friends right away. Before Covid they had playdates but that all stopped in March. When Carlos walked down the butterfly path and saw Lia his little face was nothing but a huge smile! So yes we went off the grid but I think it was well worth it to see so many smiles on three little faces.
The little ones enjoyed the bouncy bounce even though it was quite warm outside. But on a great note it didn’t rain! I was holding my breath because it called for rain to start at 2pm, the same time as the party. No raindrops until later in the evening, YAY!
After jumping, bouncing and playing in the yard, it was time to head inside for presents! Lia is so careful when opening packages, it took her forever to get the paper off each package! OMG these are some of her gifts, Lia will be making ice cream with her ice cream maker, will be able to sweep the floor with her floor care kit and have tea parties with the adorable pink china tea set at Lia’s Garden Cafe.
Some of Lia’s FaceBook friends sent her surprises! She received a Disney Cinderella doll, a butterfly kit for hatching butterflies (more on this in another blog) and two books, one on gardening!
Birthday cake time! Instead of a cake we opted for cupcakes with edible butterfly toppers! After the little ones finished helping Lia eat her cake, Layla neatly stacked the forks on top!
ABut the party wasn’t over yet, after cake it was back outside for a scavenger hunt! I got this idea from another FB friend, it was supposed to be find things on a hike but I changed it. Each person got a pack of 10 different colored cards and they had to find something in the yard in that color. It was so much fun for the little and big ones! They were all surprised when they found out each of them won a prize! I will be posting more about how to plan a find the color hike soon.
Lia had a super 2nd birthday party, full of emotions of happiness! The guests enjoyed the day, the weather was perfect and Lia got to see her two best friends, Layla and Carlos! Somewhere along the way Lia lost her sock!
After the party Lia did some clean up with a few of her presents. She has her own leaf rake to match her garden hoe plus an adorable pink garden set to plant more flowers and vegetables. After coming inside, her boots left dirt on the floor so she ran for her cleaning set and swept it up!
Build a Bear
A few days before her party, we took Lia on her annual Build a Bear excursion. There were so many bears and it took Lia some time to decide which ones she would add to her collection. After lining some up in a row, she pushed some to the left, some to the right and sat right down in the middle!
As Lia’s bears were being stuffed, she decided to cross the line and go help. That didn’t go over too well with the stuffer lady and she said Lia had to stand behind the line. I guess she didn’t know Lia is an excellent pillow stuffer and she could stuff a bear too!
Lia picked three hearts, hugged them and gave them a kiss before pushing them way deep inside each bear. Her bears were finished!
Lia’s happy with her three bears from her 1st birthday and now her three new ones for her second birthday!
But building bears is hard work and as soon as we made it home, Lia snuggled up with the new bear friends and took a nap!
Lia’s birthday party was awesome with awesome friends, a super time and a day filled with emotions of happiness!
What a perfect Birthday Party for Lia and I am so glad she had a excellent time and she is one lucky little girl I have been to @BuildABear many many times and Charlie and I still haven’t gotten a bear even though Suzzie had one which I have.
Lia was so excited to see her little friends Glenda. You have to take Charlie to Build a Bear, they have so much more than just bears now! Hug Suzzie’s bear and she will send you kisses from heaven.
So happy Lia fot to see her friends. What a lovely party.
The three little ones were so happy to be able to play together Brenda. Seven months is a long time to be away from friends.
The smiles on the little faces made me smile. And the cake it looks so good .Happy birthday to Lia
The smiles made everyone smile Amrita. The three had such a great time, hard to believe we’ve been going through Covid since March. Little ones can’t understand when they can’t play with each other but we broke the rules for the day. I’m glad they put a smile on your face!
Happy 2nd birthday Lia! Look at all those foods and gifts from friends and family. I like the video and love the picture of Lia hugging another toddler…that’s so cute!
I wish the video was clearer, not sure why it lost clarity Jojo. The other hugger was Layla, I think Lia and her will be friends forever just like their mommies are!
Awww! It made me happy just to see those pictures. Looks like a good time was had by all.
Definitely emotions of happiness Jeanine! When I see how many people Lia shares her smiles with it melts my heart. It was the best day and no rain!!
That pic of Layla hugging Lia is definitely my favorite of the lot and it is hard to pick one from this beautiful set of pics… love all the happiness and joy this post brings..
I love that too Vidya! I don’t remember if Alexandra snapped that or Layla’s mom but it shows true emotions of happiness for sure!
I looks like Lia had a wonderful day. She’s a lucky little girl to be so loved.
It’s been a long time since the little ones have been together, it was a well needed party for all Nancy! Lia is so loved by so many.
