Easy to Make Fruit Smoothies
I love smoothies and make them occasional for an evening snack but lately I’ve realized they make a filling and nutritious breakfast drink! My easy to make fruit smoothies have hardly any calories and taste delicious. I always “experiment” by adding different fruits and flavoring but the one I made the other day was oh so good!
The ingredients are simple for my recipe, I use fresh frozen mixture of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and strawberries picked from a local farm this summer that I froze, plus a banana. That’s basically it except for water and smoothie powder if you want to add that. I also added a surprise to this smoothie. This recipe for my delicious fruit smoothie makes enough for a 12 ounce glass.
I start with 1/2 cup of blended berries, 1/3 cup of strawberries and one cut up banana. I wash them to remove an ice chunks and blend up in my Ninja.
Next I add 1 1/2 teaspoons of smoothie powder but this is optional then 1/2 cup of crushed ice and 1/3 cup of water. Blend all this together until smooth.
Now here is my surprise ingredient that I added to this smoothie… 1 1/2 teaspoon of organic shredded coconut. Blend the coconut in with the rest and you are ready for a mouth-watering delicious smoothie.
This easy to make fruit smoothie is so thick, the straw stands up in the middle. So whether you want a nice refreshing fruit drink in the afternoon, after dinner or even for breakfast, this will definitely make your taste buds pucker! I made one the other day using this same recipe but I didn’t measure, I just poured things in the Ninja but I also added 3 small scoops of natural raspberry sherbert to that one. Either way they are both delicious!

Ooh, that coconut made me imagine a pina colada smoothie. Yum!! You are right, fruit smoothies make for a great breakfast drink. I used to gulp one down when I was late for work almost every day. Back then, it was strawberry banana with pineapple juice.
Oh Jeanine, the strawberry, banana and pineapple with the coconut is another one of my favorites. I love how delicious and filling a smoothie is. Thanks for visiting!
I would have added yoghurt and passed on the smoothie powder.
Yogurt would be a good alternative Roy but it actually is great even without the smoothie powder. Many times I just blend the fruit, ice and water. Thanks for stopping by!
Looks delicious! Curious why you wash off the ice if you’ll be adding more. Not a dig, just wondering.
Hi Jill, that’s a good question! One reason I wash them off is because I wash everything before using it and the other reason is, even though I rinse them in cold water, it slightly defrosted the fruit before blending together. Thanks for stopping by!
