Easy Gift Basket
Since the holidays will be arriving quickly I want to share a super quick and easy gift basket you can make. While in the mountains we stopped for apples and I also like to share them with my neighbors. I usually have little baskets or containers hanging around but I couldn’t find any this time! So I did the next best thing and became creative and made a gift basket.
First I had to come up with a small box so after scanning my eyes I saw a square tissue box and I even had two of them. PERFECT! I cut the top off, pulled out the tissues and found a plastic container the exact size to put them in. Then I handed Rich is new tissue box! LOL
Next I took a sheet of tissue paper, set the box in the center and pulled the paper around the box and over the edges then taped the paper to the box. I had some cut crinkle paper in my craft supplies so I added a bit of that to the bottom of the box.
I put four apples in each basket then added some Werther’s caramel apple candies. A quick and easy gift basket to take apples to our neighbors. Of course now I can use this idea for Christmas gifts for making cookie boxes with Christmas pretzels and candy canes sticking out of the top! These were so easy to make, it would be a good project for kids to make and fill with goodies for their teacher! I guess by now you know I save most everything and can come up with cool ideas to make instead of buying something. I love coming up with something creative from something that most people would toss in the trash.
One more day until we close the page on the October Ultimate Blog Challenge!
How creative you are Martha! I don’t think there is anything you can’t come up with in a pinch! I admire your resourcefulness. I am afraid that I have way too often leaned on purchasing items rather than putting the love into a creation to meet the need. So sweet of you, and I know your neighbors greatly appreciate you! Keep the goodness coming! Have a wonderful and blessed week!
Thanks Cindy, I’m always into handmade gifts and even packaging! Wait until you see my Christmas packaging! LOL
I like this! As you’re saying, these boxes are versatile, you can decorate them with tinsel, ribbons or stickers.
I’m sure the neighbors appreciate that you are thinking of them 🙂
Martha you are always full of quick ideas for getting things done Creatively.
Creative is my middle name Amrita! LOL
Martha, I love it! I have an unattractive pile of cardboard boxes I use for instant gift boxes, covered with gift paper or colored tissue. Got to find a way to neaten up that corner. The small tissue boxes are really a great size for this. Btw, what are we going to write for our last post for this UBC??
I love to come up with ideas to make something out of trash Kebba! It saves money from having to buy a gift box and it also save from putting things in the landfill! Tomorrow, it will be Happy Halloween!
Corners are my downfall too Kebba! I also use fabric to cover the boxes, it’s easier the manipulate around the edges and corners! I can’t believe I’m so late on replying, it’s almost time for the January challenge!
You are so creative! What a great idea. Maybe I’ll try some cookie gifts, too. I hadn’t even thought of that. But I will just get regular gift boxes because I love to create, but would not say I am artistic.
Thanks Jeanine, I save just about every box, container and whatever else I get. I did see some cute Christmas boxes at Dollar Tree that I used for my cocoa gift boxes!
Gift baskets are a great way to come up with small gifts.
Yes they are Amanda and they can be personalized too.
