Easter is a time for rejoicing and remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made for all of us. I love the selection of Pure Flix Easter movies that guide us as we prepare for the Easter season. After watching these movies with your family, you will feel encouraged and inspired.

The Classic Easter movies and documentaries are an excellcent way to deepen your understanding and knowledge of the crucifixion and ressurrection of Jesus and get deeper into the history of Easter.

I was really excited to see the variety of Easter movies for kids! These movies are easy for young children to watch and understand with their parents and/or grandparents. After the movie you can then discuss the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

I watched the Lion of Judah with my three year old great granddaughter. The movie’s opening setting is a barnyard in Bethlehem with a pig, cow, horse, rooster and mouse. A mysterious crate was tossed in, it was said to be a lion but it was a little lamb. The men then headed to Jerusalum with the lamb. Knowing the lamb may need help, the farm animals went to follow the lamb but along their way they meet a donkey going away from Jerusalum. This Easter Story as told by the animals from Bethlehem go to Jerusalum to save Judah. Judah was a lamb but had a heart of a lion, this is a story of courage and faith. It’s a wonderful story for young children to watch and understand with a bit of humor but it also shares a lesson about Palm Sunday, the crucifiction and resurrection of Jesus.

Each movie tells a story and we can learn so much history from them. There are Bible verses throughout the movies, my favorite is:

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our
sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third
day according to the Scriptures. –
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (NIV)
