Drink More Water
Drink More Water
Our body needs water to keep us healthy, keep from getting dehydrated, flush our kidneys and also helps with diet just to name a few reasons. But to me, water is blah and I don’t drink as much as I should because of that. There are flavored waters but some have additives that aren’t the most healthy.
I found a way to drink water that isn’t boring and it’s healthy at the same time. I infuse my water with fresh or frozen fruit. My infuser water bottles have a center to add fruit, vegetables or herbs. My favorite infused drink is adding strawberries, blueberries and blackberries to the center core and within a short time the fruit flavors the water and you have a delicious, healthy bottle of water. My other favorite is adding lemons or oranges and even add a mint leave for a refreshing mint flavored water.
The water bottles are great to take to work or when traveling. It’s also perfect to take to the gym or when hiking. But what about when you’re home? I have a fruit infusion water pitcher to always have fruit water handy. Once you add your fruit, the water will turn what ever color the fruit is and the fruit loses it’s color. I can keep the same fruit in my infuser for two days, then I remove the cylinder until the water is used up and ready to make another pitcher.
So don’t settle for plan boring water, add some fruit, herbs or vegetables and you will see how much more appetizing it will taste!
But,remember, if you are in Flint (MI) or the DC metropolitan area, that means BOTTLED water!
I’ve read about the water situation in Flint, glad we have great water where we live. Thanks for stopping by Roy.
My spouse has made lemon water for years – those water infusion bottles interest me. Last year I stayed in a B&B that served us cucumber water. I never would have tried it if I read about it but, after tasting it, I realized how delicious it was. Our local tap water isn’t that great. The fruit infusion is a great idea.
My grandson starts his day with a glass of lemon water! I haven’t tried cucumber in the infuser but I’ve heard of many people that do that. I love the berries or citrus fruit. Try it, you’ll love it! Thanks for stopping by Alana.
I have been meaning to get an infuser pitcher for a long time now. Maybe that’s what I’ll ask the hubby for, since he’s always asking for ideas for my birthday.
That would be a great gift Elisabeth! It has just a hint of flavor but it’s delicious! Thanks for visiting!
Learned something new today. Didn’t know about infusers. Thanks for sharing!
The infusers are great Keesha plus it costs a lot less than buying flavored water! Thanks for visiting!
Great idea. I’ll give it a try.
If you drink water Ben, this is a great way to add a little flavor to it plus it’s all natural. Thanks for stopping by.
I like infused water as well, it’s a great idea to jazz it up and add flavor, nutrients and or detox depending on what fruit you use. I find myself doing it more in the summer, but should do it year round! Great post.
It’s amazing how much more water I drink when it’s flavored. I use to add the little squirt bottles of flavoring until I read the ingredients. In my old age, I’m turning more to healthy eating. Thanks for visiting!
Would I be able to put a slice of lemon in a nalgene full of water and get the same effect? Or would I need the infuser that your water bottle has?
You’d still get the same effect by just adding the fruit to the water. The nice thing about the infuser bottle is the fruit is in like a cage and it has a slotted top on it so when you drink, the fruit stays there and won’t clog your sipper. I love fruit in my water! Thanks for visiting!
I am a bad water drinker myself. I will have to try this! Thanks for the tips!!
I drunk a lot more water this way Jenn. The nice thing about this is you can add a lot of fruit foe a heavier taste or just a small amount for a hunt of flavor. Thanks for stopping by!
