Don’t Wake Her Up

Today is Day 29 of the Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge. I love today’s topic, content that’s funny and makes you laugh out loud. This is a little story about Don’t Wake Her Up.

She wakes up, looks over and sees her still asleep. Carefully she put a stuffed animal in her arm, sits very still, she watches her sleep for a minute.

As she scoots over to the edge of the bed, she looks back again to see her still asleep. Very carefully she slides off the bed, walks to the end of the bed and sits on the bench. She still doesn’t see her moving so must still be sleeping.

Tip toeing to the door, slowly she opens it, looking back once more and checks on her. Yes, still sleeping. Walks out the door turning the knob and shutting the door ever so quietly.

You could hear as she went downstairs one step at a time and once at the bottom she said, “Hi pop! Mama is sleeping, don’t wake her up.”

Little did Lia know but I was awake the entire time. When she put the stuffed animal in my arm it was because she wanted me to think it was still her snuggled next to me. As she slid off the bed and walked to the door each time turning around to see if I was still asleep I was peeking through the corner of my eye watching her. It was so cute how she was being so quiet, even when opening and closing the door.

I waited a few minutes before I went downstairs, Lia was on the sofa snuggling pop, well more like beating him up. LOL She looks at me as I entered the room and said, “Hi mama you were sleeping. I came down to be with pop.”

I hope you enjoyed my little laugh out loud funny story. We all need a bit of humor in our lives and Lia always makes us smile and laugh!

  1. Gotta love how little tykes think they tread lightly!

  2. What a sweet story! I love that she wanted you to think she was still snuggling with you. And what a neat picture of the two of you!!

  3. Martha, I was captivated by this story. Lia is so kind and intelligent. Now she is clearly very observant and considerate as well. What a wonderful sneak you are, to pretend to be asleep and see how that scene would play out. (Emoji for laughing hard with tears.) Funny, endearing, and wonderful! Thank you!

I was curious as to what she would do with me “sleeping” Kebba. She was so quiet and very gentle when she put her stuffed toy next to me making sure it was touching me like she does when she sleeps. I just happen to have the photos since I’m always snapping pictures and I thought they went fairly well with the story! Lia is indeed one of a kind little one.
