Doing What I Love Best – Bragging About My Great Grandson
Definition of a grandma and great grandma – Love and brag about their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. So today I’m doing what I love best, bragging about my great-grandson. Logan is my #1 oldest great-grandson and I am so proud of him.
Today my oldest granddaughter messaged me with news about our 8-year-old great grandson’s report card and he is excelling in reading and math. They grade the children on the grade they are in, by where they should be where, where their entire grade class is and where the district is.
Logan is in 2nd grade and he not only excelled in his class or his grade, but he even excelled in the entire district. The graph shows the ratings of 191 in blue which is Logan’s score, the district is orange with 175 and the red is the 2nd grade class at 177.
Needless to say, great grandpa and I are very proud of Logan. With the Common Core math that Logan is doing, I’m sure he can figure out the math problems quicker than I can! I don’t have a clue as to how this works, so I’ll stick with the old fashion arithmetic from days of old.
When not in school, Logan is active in Cub Scouts and he loves all the projects they do. This is him painting his truck for the derby competition that he won! (Notice he follows my good eating habits! LOL)
Logan is a tiny guy with a big heart and lots of energy. He loves baseball and looking forward to the next season start-up. Then in the fall he’s busy on the soccer team. When on the field, just look for the little guy with the super blonde hair. I think it’s great that he keeps busy and excels both in school and in sports.
Since our first grandchild was born 29 years ago, to all the other 6 of them, I have taught them all to sew a pillow when they were about three or four years old. I am following suit with the great grands and Logan made his first pillow a few years ago. I love the look of determination on his face while he’s sewing and he’s so proud when he completed the pillow. His little sister helped stuff it, just like her mom did when she was about Ayva’s age when her older brother made his pillow.
This picture is over 25 years old, but it’s Logan’s and Ayva’s mom when she helped her older brother stuff his pillow. CJ and Desiree were about the same age as Logan and Ayva were on the first sewing project for Logan.
Logan and his little sister are so close. He takes such good care of Ayva, making sure she gets to her classroom and I’m sure when she gets older, Logan will be there ready to fight if anyone messes with her although she can probably pack a good punch if needed. I am so proud of my granddaughter, Desiree, on how she has raised her children and so proud of our great-grandchildren just for being who they are.

You have an adorable grandson.
Thankgoodness they took common core out of the schools where I live. To many kids were failing.
I don’t know why they have to make is so complicated. Back when I was in school, way back, a student could understand the questions, now I wouldn’t have a clue. I just don’t see the reasoning to change to Common Core. Thanks for stopping by Sandy.
Adorable!
I thought so too Priscilla, but then again I may be a bit partial. LOL
Great hobby you have. I only have grandchildren so far and I brag about them, but if I had a great grand you can bet I’d be talking about him or her too!
Once we hit the grandma (or great grandma) status, we have bragging rights! I’ve been bragging for 29 years, when my oldest grandson was born and no with the 4 great grands, it’s double the bragging! Love them all so much. Keep up your bragging too Olivia!
