Do you Have a Favorite Quote?
We are already up to day 12 in the January 2020 Ultimate Blog Challenge! I’m using the suggested topic which is a favorite quote. There are so many quotes that have meaning to different people. Do you have a favorite quote?
My favorite quote is one I’ve already written about and it’s the one I follow in life, work, and even blogging. I live by this one: If we want to explore deeper oceans, we first have to leave sight of the shore.” We will never know if something can be achieved or accomplished if we don’t at least try. If we stay on the shore and wiggle out toes in the sand, we won’t know what can be accomplished. This is a blog I wrote a few years ago about why it’s special to me. http://themarthareview.com/my-favorite-quote/
So I have to think about coming up with my 2nd favorite quote! Hang on I’m thinking……hmmmm, thinking…..thinking…….. thinking… I GOT IT!!! It’s “Age is Just a Number.”
Why did I pick this quote? At almost 71 years old, I love to be around my grandchildren and great-grands. I will crawl around the floor with them playing with blocks or dolls and teddy bears. I can be as silly as Lia, laughing about nothing as I watching her jump up and down like a jumping bean. If I wasn’t taking this picture, I would probably be in bouncing with my granddaughter and great granddaughter!
When spending time at the park with Lia I’m climbing the jungle gym or going down the slide with my granddaughter and great granddaughter.
Yes, to me age is just a number and the more time I spend with little and big ones the younger I feel! Three generations of love and fun, age doesn’t matter. I may grow older but I don’t grow up! 🤣
How about you, do you have a favorite quote?
I have been heard to say that I have turtle recall.
One of the first movies I can remember seeing is Disney’s “Bambi”.
From that movie, I remember the advice to Bambi:
“If you cannot say something nice, don’t say anything at all.”
That is why I am such a quiet person.
LOL that’s me too Doug! I am a very positive person and if I can’t say anything positive I keep quiet. Well there may be a few times my motor mouth gets in high gear!
It’s so nice to see the joy you have being with your family Martha. Isn’t grandmotherhood the greatest?
Yes Karen grandmotherhood is grand! As the saying goes, if I knew being a grandmother was so much fun, I would have had grandchildren first! LOL
My quote/mantra – “Today I will be happier than a bird with a french fry!” That makes me chuckle as well as inspires me!
Oh I like that Paul! I’ll remember that everytime I watch our backyard birds eat frendh fries!
Age is definitely just a number! I couldn’t agree more. You’re never too old for a new adventure!
That’s so true Alice! I went back to school at 60 years old just to see if I could still learn new things. I passed the insurance course I took with a 98!
I know, you will like this quote. My favorite quote and I am not sure where I got it from. ” There are a million ways back to God, every person must follow their own path.”
That is perfect Brenda! As every person follows their own path, God will be waiting at all of them. Thanks for sharing!
Many wonderful stories
Lots of memories in my stories Rich.
Great post! My favorite quote has come from my grandpa, he once told me, “Keep going until God moves you.” He told me that one day when I was feeling stuck.
Your grandpa sounds like a very wise man! God indeed moves us! Thanks for visiting Amanda.
