Desserts, Desserts, Desserts

Desserts, Desserts, Desserts!!

This is day eleven for the Ultimate Blog Challenge and the suggested topic is desserts!  Funny thing, just before I opened the email I was thinking wouldn’t it be great to have a recipe topic and bam, there it was!  Seeing as I love desserts, this topic was so easy to come up with a recipe. Wait did I say ‘A’ recipe?  Now that is a problem because I have a few delicious cake and cookie recipes and it’s hard to pick just one to share.  So I’m going to share some desserts, desserts, desserts with you!

There are times when I need a quick and easy dessert so I’m going to share a few variations of my Crescent Rolls recipes. These are great for last-minute company or for after school snacks.

Start with a can of crescent rolls, pop it open and carefully pull the dough apart on the dotted lines.  I use a silicone baking sheet so I don’t need to grease the cookie sheet.   Lay the pieces of dough on the cookie sheet, then start adding the goodies.  The first ones I added a layer of chocolate chips, then sprinkled with coconut.  Be careful when you roll it up so the ingredients stay put.  Bake at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes.

The other way I made these was to cut a circle of dough the size of a muffin pan and lay it on the bottom of a greased muffin pan or use silicone liners.  Layer the dough with the chips and coconut and bake the same 375 degrees for about 12 minutes.   The chips melt and the coconut mingles together for a delicious snack.

These are so delicious but very hot right out of the oven so I suggest you try to contain your taste buds for about 5 minutes to cool.  These would be good with chopped nuts but I was out so that will be for next time.

For another variation, I start with the dough the same way on the cookie sheet.   First, butter the dough then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on each piece of dough. Wrap it up carefully and bake these for about 12 minutes also.  Oh my goodness, both variations are SO DELICIOUS!

Look at how great this is for a quick and easy breakfast or anytime snack.  The dough is so flaky and as the butter and brown sugar melt, it turns into a ooey gooey delicious breakfast, snack or dessert!   So next time you need a quick dessert or snack, this is one to try!

Some of the other desserts I love to make take more time but it’s well worth the wait, they are so mouth watering delicious!  My Italian drop cookies are so soft and I keep extras (yes sometimes I have extras) in a sealed container or plastic bag to keep them soft.

Another recipe I like to make is cinnamon swirl cake. This is great for either breakfast or as a dessert.  The cinnamon is swirled all through out the cake and it’s oh so good!

Now this is by far my favorite cake! It’s my grandmother’s recipe of her chocolate mayonnaise cake with out of this world fluffy white frosting, topped with coconut!  The best way to eat this cake is right after you frost it with a large glass of cold milk.  WARNING:  If you like chocolate cake, it’s easy to devour this cake without even thinking of calories.

I found a delicious recipe for Hazelnut Biscotti and I had to run all around creation to find the hazelnuts but it was well worth it!

These are not the easiest to make but they sure a good!  http://themarthareview.com/delicious-hazelnut-biscotti-with-fine-naturals-organic-cacao-powder/

So do you have your sweet tooth ready to try some of these delicious recipes?  Sweets are my downfall and I love desserts, desserts, desserts!
