Delicious Cinnamon Swirl Bread
A Facebook friend of Lia’s and mine shared this recipe on her a post and we had a baking day to make this delicious cinnamon swirl bread. It’s so easy but like most recipes, we need patience while it’s baking for the hour. Thanks for sharing this recipe Brenda!
This recipe can be made with Greek yogurt or sour cream. We opted for the sour cream since we were out of yogurt. Lia blended the egg, milk, vanilla and yogurt together.
After the ingredients were blended, we added the sugar, flour, and baking powder and mixed together. The recipe calls for salt but we omit salt in our baking. Lia overshot her mark a bit but she just put a few extra pinches of flour in the bowl.
It’s that simple! For the swirl, just mix cinnamon, sugar and water together until it’s mixed together. Instead of sugar we used Monk Fruit, an all natural sweetener with zero calories.
After pouring the topping on the cake, Lia and I swirled it with a knife through the bread batter. Bake it at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until knife comes out clean. We added about 8 additional minutes to the baking and it was perfect.
While waiting for the bread to bake Lia did the dishes. She is helpful not only with baking but also with doing the clean up. Plus it passes the time away while we are smelling the delicious bread bake!
Hot out of the oven, doesn’t this look delicious? We can’t wait to try it! I like making breads in my old load pan, it belonged to my grandmother and I remember using it when I helped her bake many, many years ago.
After the cinnamon swirl bread cooled we added the confectionery sugar mixed with water to make a glaze and drizzled it over the top of the bread. We also added strawberry extract to the sugar and water!
Of course we couldn’t wait until it was totally cool to try, we had to cut it while slightly warm. Oh my was it delicious!
The recipe is from Sam’s Place blog and he has many other delicious recipes that Lia and I have to try real soon! We give this recipe and the delicious cinnamon swirl bread a 100%!!
My little sunshine. I love that big smile. She looks so proud of herself.
She always is proud of her accomplishments Brenda and of course we keep telling her how great she is! Always smiling, full of sunshine for sure!
That looks almost easy enough for me to do it- except I lack a blender. So.. I’ll keep buying my loaves.
We use a mixer but you can hand mix it. I guess Lia will have to send you a loaf Roy!
Lia is so cute in these pictures! She can be a future chef someday. And you’re making me hungry with your cinnamon bread 🙂
Thanks Dan! Lia loves to bake and cook, so she just may become a famous chef! Her cinnamon bread was delicious!
Wow, that looks good.
