De-Clutter One Room at a Time
Yes it’s WORDLESS WEDNESDAY but I need to say a few words to describe my photographs. First I’m participating in a 5 day challenge to De-Stress the Mess. This is a challenge that helps the participants de-clutter, get rid of unused/unwanted items and organize. I’m so excited to De-Clutter one room at a time!
I started in an upstairs room that was my now 25 and 22 year old grandchildren’s playroom up until about 15 years ago. It has become a catch-all room where I get it partially organized then it gets back to were it was. I put things up there and say, “when I get time, I’ll put them away” but the time never seems to come. UNTIL NOW!!! I’m so excited to De-Clutter one room at a time!
So without any more delay, here are the before and after pictures! Ugg, I’m almost too embarrassed to post the before but this shows there is hope of others! Lia even found some treasures with some of her mommy’s old toys!
I still have to do some dusting of hubby’s collectibles but at least we can see them now! There is so much room in the upstairs room now, Lia can even play up there like her mommy did when she was younger! Also the rocking chair belonged to my mother and it now has a visible home along with the quilt she made way back in the 1980’s. There is way more history to the rocking chair that you can read about here…. http://themarthareview.com/rocking-chair-memories/ But back to my De-Clutter one room at a time challenge, I’m moving on to another room!
Oh, good. Now that you’ve finished that – when will you be coming here to help me!
LOL Roy! I can’t believe I actually purged, tossed, donated and threw so much away! We moved to SC full time in 1994 and I brought down all our records (paper, no computer back then) from the 70’s and above. Rich is keeping the shredder going! It will be awhile until we can come help you, I’m doing room by room and purging and de-clutter!
I do love that rocking chair. I finally have one of my own. You did a great job de-clutting.
I love the rocking chair also Brenda. I’ll be passing it on to Alex so she can rock Lia’s little ones when the time comes! Glad you have one! I’m so excited about my de-cluttering challenge, I never thought I could do it but I’m so happy I started.
that decluttering looks like magic 🙂 I need to start with my closet .. 🙂 and yes, I am in next in line after Roy
It’s so hard for me to stay focused in one room when I declutter Vidya. But this time I got it! I’m so excited to reduce the clutter! I’ll be posting lots of before and after pictures as I get organized! Got you down for after Roy! LOL
This week, I went full tilt declutter in preparation for my year long spiritual retreat, which starts tomorrow!! So clear in my inner and outer world, now!!
That’s wonderful Kate! Someone told me it must be like a hurricane decluttering the entire house. I told them it’s more like a tsunami went through!! LOL But I’m so excited! Wishing you the best on your year long retreat!
I just finished cleaning up and de-cluttering my bedroom. It looks much better.
That’s terrific Amanda! I feel so much better when I get a room de-cluttered, it’s a great accomplishment! We’re working on the kitchen now!
