Creative Way To Wrap Gift Cards
There are so many options for gifts and sometimes it’s hard to know what size clothes or what video game is someone’s favorite. That’s when gift cards make an excellent gift. But gift cards have come a long way and you no longer have to run to the store to buy one, you can go to many gift card sites online, order an e-gift card and print it up instantly. These are great because you have the option of using it online or printing it out and using it in the store. Before printing them out, you can even personalize the e-gift card with the recipient’s name and a short message. To fold an e-gift card and put in an envelope sometimes isn’t enough, so I use a creative way to wrap gift cards.
This is a quick and easy way to,wrap an e-gift card. Take a small piece of ribbon and tape to the edge of the paper the e-gift card is printed on and roll it up. I take the cardboard tube from wrapping paper and mark and cut the tube slightly longer than the paper. A tube from wax paper or aluminium foil also works great. I like to add stickers to the tube for added fun, but you can also write something or add doodles.
Make sure the paper is rolled tighter than the center of the tube and start pushing it in one end. Before you finish pushing it in the tube, tape the other end of the ribbon to the outside of the paper, making a ribbon loop. I push that in the tube enough so when the package is opened, the ribbon won’t get cut accidentally.
I use decorative tissue paper and roll it around the cardboard tube, twist each end and tie ribbon around them, completing your wrapping. When the gift is unwrapped, just pull the ribbon loop to view the gift card.
By using this creative way to wrap gift cards, it makes the gift look more interesting instead of just an envelope.

Oh this is a great DIY Christmas wrap hack!!
I like to do this because it adds to the gift, they don’t know right off it’s a gift card! Glad you like the idea Sandy!
I always thought that’s what toilet paper rolls were for. And, then you fill them with gum, or tootsie rolls, etc. to boot!
That’s a great idea too Roy! They aren’t quite long enough for a gift card, but candy always works! Thanks for stopping by.
Always looking for clever ways to give gift cards or cash! I know many people think they are impersonal gifts, but I say you need to know the recipient. When I was a young mother on a budget, especially, I appreciated gift cards that were just for me to treat myself.
I never liked giving gift cards but now that the grands are older and have their own tastes, (not to mention they are scattered all up and down the East Coast) I find it a much better gift. They can go to the mall and get clothes that I would probably not have a clue what to get or what size. I never thought about using the same idea for cash and like Roy mentioned, filling them with candy is a great idea also. Thanks for visiting Susan!
