Create a List of My Favorite Blog Posts
Gosh, the Ultimate Blog Challenge is half way through the month! The suggested topic for today, Day 15, is to create a resource list. There are many different resource lists that can be created such as links to sites for different products, a list a favorite social media tools, fun activities to do with children and even a list of favorite Blog posts. Since today marks 18 years since God called my dear mother home, it wasn’t hard to create a list of my favorite blog posts that I have written about mom.
My mom was the sweetest and kindest person to everyone whether it was family, friend or stranger. Mom loved flowers and after she passed away, we made a memory garden for her in our back yard. We planted some of the flowers from her funeral and the one azalea bush is huge with beautiful pink blooms that start in early spring.
Alzheimer’s is the cruel illness that took so much from my mom. It was heartbreaking to see her go downhill and go from a happy person to one that near the end could only talk through her eyes. When we walked into her room, we knew she could hear us and her eyes would light up, especially when we took her great-grandchildren with us to visit. This is the first of my favorite blog posts that I wrote about my mom. I wrote about some of the memories of mom while she was living with Alzheimer’s.

The second post on my list was last year on this day when I wrote about

I love writing poems and when mom passed away I wrote this poem back on January 15, 2000. I have since shared it with those who have lost loved ones and hope it has given them a bit of comfort. My third blog post on my list is: http://themarthareview.com/when-god-called-mom-home/
Although my mom is not with me in person, she lives forever in my heart with all the memories I hold on to.

Alzheimer’s is a most cruel affliction- because everything looks the same and is completely different. It’s as if one moved to al alternate universe.
Yes it is Roy, it was so heartbreaking to watch my mom go from such a beautiful, loving and helpful person to basically a shell. But I have so many wonderful memories of her. Thanks for stopping by.
Martha,m I hadn’t realized that our mothers died in the same month. Sadly, today marks the first day of the two weeks before my mother’s death. I start burning a blue candle in honor of her. I did this while she was in the hospital. I know, when the candle could no longer burn she would die. I burn a candle every year, the same way.
What a beautiful way to memorialize you mom Brenda. If you think back, we have so many things in common, must be a sign! Thanks for visiting and I’m sending prayers to you and know that you mom is now pain free and watching over and guiding you.
