Color of the Day is Neon 1

NEON!!!! For each Sunday of the challenge, the prompt is to Pick Your Favorite Neon. So today the Color of the Day is Neon 1.

I really don’t have any favorite neon color but way back when we lived in upstate New York hubby lived in the woods. Well he didn’t actually live in the woods but when he went deer hunting he spent a lot of time there. For safety from other hunters he wore a neon vest.

We’re talking over 50 years ago when I made him a neon orange down filled vest. Can you believe he still has it! Of course living in the south it never gets worn but it’s more of a memory item.

Back in the last 60’s and 70’s Altra kits were popular. The kit included precut pieces of the jacket fabric and lining, all the supplies needed even the thread and little packages of down marked to go into the different channels that I stitched in the jacket. I made my hubby many clothing items and I always added a few personalized sewn in labels. 😍

We also each wore a neon orange balaclava when we rode motorcycles. They could be used as a full face mask, wear it around the neck and pull up as a half face mask, or wear it as a helmet liner.

Since the coronavirus, balaclavas make good face masks also. Wear it around your neck and pull up over your month and nose when needed.
