Color of the Day is Magenta

So the color challenge is going to be a challenge this week! Today the color of the day is Magenta. This is described as a deep pink to saturated purple. So in other words, a pinkish purple. Are you ready for my finds?

You probably knew I would have flowers in this colorway. I’m not sure what the first picture is, I took it in the Great Smoky Mountains last February. Look close and you can see the frost on the flowers. The other two pictures were taken in our yard. The magenta mums were from our last year’s Thanksgiving display and the petunias laced with white edging are in mom’s memory garden.

When my mom passed away in 2000, we were given a small potted azalea plant. I never would have guessed it would take over the entire side of the garden but I love the deep magenta flowers that bloom early spring. Mom loved flowers and this bush brings back so many memories.

This is another shade of magenta. Lia’s room (which has been Alexandra’s since she was 4 years old) now has magenta sheer panels over white ones. Her message board is the same color and it accents her walls. You will see more on her room with another color coming up next week!

I thought I might have problems finding things for the color of the day is Magenta but I think I passed the test. Now tomorrow’s color may be a different story!

Well I was wondering about that Roy. Actually when the first bloom they are much deeper but I couldn’t find a pic of them. My favorites are the petunias laced with white edges.

oh my oh my…love the flowers!!!! Gorgeous! When we visited the Smoky Mountains last summer, I saw many beautiful flowers. I could have snapped all day capturing the beauty and essence of their look. The others in my party weren’t as interested though, so I stopped. LOL
