Circle of Life
Circle of Life
As I was looking at the roses in our yard, I noticed the most beautiful one had started as a bud then to a gorgeous bloom to dropping the petals and dying. But then a new rose blooms and the process starts all over. It reminded me of the circle of life. We are born, we grow up and thrive, we die. Last year, a friend passed away unexpectedly. She was only in her 60’s, had been in perfect health when she had a heart attack and left a loving husband and their children behind. But a few months later, a precious granddaughter was born and the sweet baby brought life back into the family. My friend will live on with her granddaughter sharing her name.
That’s what got me thinking how the circle of life can be the same with beautiful flowers, animals or people.
The life of the rose is over, but the beauty remains in our hearts as it does with our loved ones, they are both so beautiful right to the end. So while we are sad when we lose someone, we have the wonderful memories forever in our heart and a new life will appear with a precious little one to restart the circle of life.
Martha, love the parallels you have drawn using the series of photos , the roses and the people in your life..
and really great that the kids have time with their great grandma.. my kids do too – we make sure we visit my grandma every summer in India and they love to hear stories of their mom and their grandmom from their great-grandmom….
I guess you can tell I love our roses LadyInRead. When I say the petals falling, it reminded me of the circle of life with people. My mom passed away but even though the great grands were young, my now 25 year old granddaughter (the oldest one in the photo) still remembers her visits and great gramma “talking” to them with her eyes. Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day.
A beautiful sensitive analogy of the circle of life. When we connect with nature as you so beautifully did we see life’s spiritual journey unfold. Lovely!
Thank you Ute, we all know death is a part of life and while it hurts so much, we need to find a way to try to make some of the hurt go away. My mom loved flowers and every time I go to her memory garden, I can al hear her talking to me but without words. Thanks for visiting.
Beautiful heartfelt words. My grandma was a beautiful rose who I lost 11 years ago yesterday.
Grandmas are so special Kim and I’m sure you have many wonderful memories in your heart. It must have been a sign for me to write this yesterday for your grandma. My mom and grandma were both beautiful roses. Thanks for visiting.
The eyes say it all …
Thanks for visiting!
Circle of life is beautifully written. I loved to read and ponder for some seconds. Your emotions are perfect and very true. Pictures are sooo beautiful.
Thanks Hemendra, I thought this was a good way to explain the circle of life with the rose. Thanks for stopping by.
True that! It’s a hard fact of Life but, so true that none can deny it… loved the way you’ve framed it along with the pictures especially those from actual moments 🙂 Good Luck!
Thanks, I’m glad you like the photos used. I thought it would have more meaning by using “real” photos. Thanks for stopping by.
What an interpretation of life with the help of growing roses. Nicely written article. Love the way you write. I am totally agree with you about the perception of life.
Thanks Abhishek, I appreciate your great comment. I came up with this interpretation when I saw our beautiful rose, slowly wilt away and drop the petals. Thanks for stopping by.
I loved the way you have paralleled your photos of people and the life stages of the rose. I posted about roses today, too. They are so beautiful at this time of year.
I love roses and thought this was a good way to help children when going through the lose of a loved one. I’ve been out of town, but heading over to see your roses! Thanks for stopping by Barbara.
Martha, this so lovely.
I hope my Circle of Life blog will help others in their time of grief of a loved one Brenda.
