Chipping Away at Frozen Water
Look what I’m sharing for my Friday Story Time by Lia! Mommy saw this project and I decided to try it out. I’m chipping away at frozen water!
First I found a plastic container and filled it with water. I looked through my toys and found things that would be okay to get wet. Then I added them to the water. Ma had the great idea to add blue food dye to the water and doesn’t it look like ocean water now? We put it in the freezer for a day until the water was frozen solid.
I was excited when it was ready to start chipping away at frozen water! Since Ma figured it might be a bit messy, I put on my painting shirt and we went outside on my table and stated chipping away! But once I started I realized I needed to get my goggles to keep any ice chips from hitting my eyes.
This was a fun project and I used my new pink hammer that my friend Brenda sent me. I started hammering the frozen cube of ice and one by one I got the surprises out.
Look at my blue hands! This was a messy project but perfect to do outside and when I was all done, pop hosed off my table and it was good as new!
After the table was all cleaned off I had a surprise visitor on the side of my screen room. It was a beautiful green dragonfly! I quietly walked over to him and gently put my hand up and the next thing I knew, he flew on my finger! The dragonfly stayed on my finger for a bit then flew away. I had a fun time chipping away at frozen water and it ended with a beautiful dragonfly!
Hope you all have a great weekend and I’ll be back next week with another Friday Story Time by Lia!
