Changed the Master Bathroom Again

Back in 2020 I reorganized the master bathroom and I liked the results. However something wasn’t to my liking so I changed a few things since then. I still needed to make changes so last week I changed the master bathroom again!

First let me tell you what I did last night when it hit me. As I was earning Swagbuck points from a ball drop challenge I realized that’s what I do when I declutter! You have to take unorganized colored balls in tubes and move them around until each color is in the same tube. That’s what I do when I organize! I move things from here to there, find things in other places that aren’t in use and but them to good use somewhere else! By the way, I earned 596 Swagbuck points too!

On to my bathroom, this is what it looked like a few years ago and I was happy with the clutter removed and the closet cleaned out. The three shelf shoe rack was a review item but I turned it into a towel rack with toilet paper stored on the bottom shelf. Later on I moved the toilet paper and had Lia’s bath tub toy box there for easy reach. BUT…

After moving furniture around I came across this small dresser (another review item) that we had used for Lia’s socks and hair bows. Since she had a larger one, this was basically a catch-all so that’s when I came up with my idea. That would be perfect in the bathroom and there was even enough room on the shelf for two fabric storage bins to store toilet paper and tissues. I used a lot of storage baskets for small items in the closet so they wouldn’t fall through the wire shelves. Yes, I was happy and I loved the new look in our 23 year old master bathroom. The shelf rack went in the spare bedroom closet for storage. BUT…. yes we have another BUT!

While reorganizing our master bedroom closet I tossed out and donated so many unwanted/unused things that now I don’t even know why I had been saving them. LOL The closet is far from completed but at least we can walk in it now and Rich can find a shirt. I saved the large orange and navy box my robot vacuum came in because the boxes inside are super heavy and look like they are painted wood. I stashed them next to the cereal and beer. No we don’t drink beer and the cereal boxes are empty but they are collector items that for now will stay but eventually they have to be re-homed.

I purchased navy throw rugs for the bathroom and that’s when it hit me, the blue boxes would be great under the dresser to bring color to that side.

Now I think my master bathroom is the way I like it. My latest review item was a set of navy towels, how perfect is that! The bath towels are huge and they are all finished with binding and each has a loop for hanging up. I also decided to decorate the top of the dresser with some of our loon collection, now they have a perfect spot to go with the loon towels.

Since I changed the master bathroom again I wonder what my next project will be!

I like the results. I really like that picture — it made me do a double-take because I didn’t think you lived on the beach LOL

Looking forward to your next project!

That is a sticky packed mural I got as a review item! The perfect spot since we live close to the beach but not on it. Thanks for visiting Dominique.

  2. Wow, I am SO impressed with what you have done!! The master bedroom looks so beautiful. Everything does.

As I was reading and looking at the pictures I thought, you need a beer fridge in there to keep the beer cold and then wondered if you had beer on your cereal and speculated that is why you have so much energy to do all you do in a day and keep up with Lea. Then you put an end to that when you said they were collector’s items and I realized that either you or Rich were the collectors.

  4. Martha, I love it! I was following along happily until- ZAP- the dark blue boxes got to move into the bathroom! Yes! The last piece moved into place. I love it! Btw are there lots of loons in your area?

    • Martha says:

I’ve been saving the blue boxes for years just waiting for the perfect spot Kebba and I finally found it! We don’t have many loons here, a few come down in the winter. My sister lives in Maine and she has lots! Rive loves the sound of the loon, we had them in the Adirondacks when we lived in upstate New York. I decided this was the perfect spot to display some of her loons Kebba.
