CAVE TOOLS Fish Basket

 

Fish is one of my favorites, especially salmon. I prefer to cook my fish on the grill because it not only seems to taste better but it also keeps the “fishy” smell out of the kitchen!  I was given a great opportunity to test a complimentary Cave Tools Fish Basket for my own use and all opinions of the product are my own. In a few words, it’s terrific!

 

 

The fish basket comes in two sizes, I ordered the large size and it’s so easy to use on any thickness of fish. The wire tension has “give” to it so whether you have a thin filet or a thick fish, the fish basket can handle either.  There is clearance on both sides of the basket so it doesn’t sit right on the grill grates and it won’t leave a fishy smell on your grill.

 

Before I used the fish basket for the first time, I washed it and brushed with a light amount of oil. I put my salmon filet on the basket, snapped the top down and let the one side grill and brown.  When the salmon was browned to perfection, I flipped the fish basket to continue grilling on the other side.  While grilling, I squeezed a bit of lemon on the salmon and it smelled so good!  I also had a few shrimp I added to the basket and they too browned perfectly.

 

 

As you can see from this photo, the salmon was perfectly browned but so juicy on the inside!  Even the shrimp were browned to perfection and so mouth-watering delicious after grilling them on the Cave Tools Fish Basket.

I was amazed at how easy the stainless steel fish basket was to clean.  It’s dishwasher safe but I just added dish detergent to hot water and hand washed it.  Even though it’s a “fish basket”, it’s great for vegetables, thin slices of meat that may fall through the grill grates and even shish kabobs.
