Beautiful Hibiscus for Wordless Wednesday
Nothing better than a beautiful hibiscus for Wordless Wednesday. Most of my steady followers know about our little neighbor lady who moved into assisted living about a few months ago. Ruthie has been a part of Lia’s life since she was born and both were sad when moving day came along.
Shortly before Ruthie moved she gave us a small hibiscus plant that had been buried between other flowers and wasn’t blooming. Hubby transplanted one in our front yard and look at it now! When Lia goes out to check the beautiful blooms, she also looks over at Ruthie’s house as if to say, “We’re taking good care of your beautiful hibiscus.”
I hope you enjoyed our beautiful hibiscus for Wordless Wednesday! We are patiently waiting for Ruthie’s assisted living complex to allow visitors again so we can visit with Ruthie and Lia can take her some delicious cookies to her!
They are beautiful. I do hope you get to take Lia to visit Ruthie soon!!
We’re hoping the nursing home opens to visitors soon Brenda.
Gorgeous, Martha! When we lived in TX I had hibiscus and enjoyed them so very much. Thanks for the memories…
I think hibiscuses are so beautiful Lori! This one has so many memories from our neighbor Ruthie!
Beautiful and I hope Ruthie is doung well. Have a wonderful day.
We miss not seeing her Glenda. The home is still off limits to visitors, hopefully that will change soon because Lia misses seeing Ruthie.
Beautiful flowers….
Thanks Roy, these are extra special because they came from Ruthie.
nothing more fun that a flower as big as a child’s head! Lovely story. I hope you are able to visit Ruthie soon! Flowers are good medicine!
Lia said it was her hat Kathleen. LOL I wonder if there is a way to dry them, I’ll have to check into that.
Awesome pics!
Lia said it was her hat Alexandra! LOL
Beautiful Hibiscus and Lia!
Thank you Lily, I love how beautiful they are!
Wow what blooms and they were hidden away! Lia is so beautiful with them!
Yes hidden in a side area just waiting for Lia! Thanks for visiting Cindy.
It’s funny that I was gonna compare hibiscus very similar to another beautiful flower that we had at home when I was a kid. The name of the flower was gumamela, and when I googled it….guess what…they are the same! The color of ours was red. We used to crush some flowers and its leaves and make cool bubbles out of its juices…so fun! You guys should try it. BTW, Lia’s looking good on these pictures 🙂
WOW, I learned something Jojo, never know the other name of them. I’ll have to try making bubbles, Lia would love that! I’ve also been told if you take the dried petals, they make delicious tea. That just might be another blog with the bubbles and tea!
that is such a giant hibiscus!! we have a few hibiscus as well.. and grew up with lots of them in our neighborhood and garden..
lia is truly a flower girl there 🙂
I think this hibiscus had Ruthie’s love in it also Vidya. Lia knows it came from her yard and we’re waiting for the day that visiting opens up in nursing homes so we can go visit Ruthie!
Such a pretty flower and bush.
Thanks Amanda, I love the color too.
