BEANS, SAUSAGE, HAM MEAL
I’m always looking for delicious meals that are both easy to prepare and economical. I was reading some posts on Facebook the other day and my friend had the most awesome looking crock pot meal so I asked if she would like to share her recipe. Chantel R. cooks like I do, her recipes are in her head, she doesn’t measure and adds ingredients as she cooks! This is Chantel’s delicious recipe for her Beans, Sausage, Ham meal that she is sharing to my readers.
Soak pinto beans in water overnight, drain and add to crock pot the next day, Add two ham hawks on top, season with season salt, garlic powder, chopped onion, 3 cups or so of water put on low for 8 hours. The last two hours of cooking, take ham hock bones out, remove the meat from the bones and chop it up before adding it back in the crock pot. Chop smoke sausage and lingucia, fry up in a pan then add this also to the bean mixture and stir it all together. If more flavor is needed, add more seasoning. Chantel mentioned that she has made this without the smoke sausage but it adds more flavor with it. To serve, you can eat it like a soup or add it over rice. Either way it sure looks delicious!
From Chantel’s picture, I can only imagine the aroma in her kitchen while this was cooking! It also looks like a meal that would taste just as good as leftovers if there happen to be any left from your hungry family! Thank you so much Chantel for sharing your special Beans, Sausage, Ham Meal recipe to my blog readers!
Here’s another recipe for those of you that love beans, it’s my grandmother’s baked beans recipe she use to make over 60 years ago when I was a child. How it brings back memories when I make them!

I guess that’s why I use beans, tomatoes, and jalapenos. (I avoid ham and sausage.)
Tomatoes I can go for, not so much for the jalapenos but that’s what’s great about food, every one can prepare it to their liking Roy!
Looks like a lovely warming meal for the upcoming season and the kitchen would smell great all day! Thanks for sharing.
Can’t you almost smell it from the picture Janice? I can’t wait to try it and so glad Chantel shared it with everyone. Thanks for stopping by.
I love baked beans!! I’m vegetarian now, but the recipe sounds delicious nonetheless. Yum!
I don’t know much about a vegetarian diet Jeanine, but can you have beans in your diet? The baked bean recipe link could be made without adding the bacon and it’s still delicious! Thanks for stopping by and smelling the beans!
