Baking with Lia
Today I’m sharing my exciting Friday Story Time about Baking with Lia. The other day I made delicious cinnamon buns. Of course my mommy and GG mama helped a little!
The first thing I did to get ready for my baking project was read the instructions and make sure I had all the ingredients. Everything was ready, I had my mommy’s old apron on from when she was my age and I was ready to start baking!
After everything was in the bowl, I turned the mixer on to blend the ingredients all together, scraping the sides of the bowl along the way.
Now came the fun part. I took the big ball of dough and patted it down so I could roll it flat. This is the first time I used a rolling pin and mommy said I did a great job.
After the dough was nice and flat it was time to butter the big square and then sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on it. This part was done by my mommy because she didn’t want sugar all over the place!
Mommy rolled it up and cut into sections then put in a pan. Since these are made with yeast, we had to wait 45 minutes before we could bake them.
So here I sit, waiting, waiting, waiting for the time to go by. But wait, someone is at the door. Oh it’s my neighbor stopping by to say hi! Since we had time to waste, Carlos and I decided to walk down and get the mail. Okay it’s finally time to put the cinnamon buns in the oven but now we have to wait another 30 minutes for them to bake. So Carlos and I stood at the window looking for the backyard birds. I love watching the birds fly way up in the air!
Oh my, something smells really good, oh it’s my cinnamon buns! Mommy took them out of the oven, let them cool for a little bit and added some frosting to the top.
I gave my GG papa one to try and he said it was the best cinnamon bun he has ever eaten. I have so much fun helping mommy and GG mama and baking is one of my favorite things to do! I’ll be back soon with another exciting Friday Story Time with Lia!
Note from GG mama….. Princess Lia is 17 months old and she is so excited to learn new things. Her mommy and I would bake when Alexandra was the age of Lia. Now Alexandra and I enjoy bringing back the memories from over 20 years ago and making the same memories with Lia. ❤️
17 months old she does things beyond belief.
Lia sure is also looking to expand her knowledge Rich! She doesn’t miss anything!
Never thought of making cinnamon buns. Maybe I’ll try it soon.
