Baking with GG Mama

Day 3 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge is to write about someone you admire and why. I already had another topic in mind since it’s Friday Story Time by Lia the Baby Blogger, but Lia’s story idea is sorta still on topic.

I admire Lia’s mommy for all she has gone through, all she has push through and especially for being such a wonderful, caring and loving mommy to Lia. Everyone mentions how Lia is such a happy baby, always smiling and happy and I credit that for her being surrounded by so much love.

I also admire Lia for her compassion at such a young age, for always wanting to learn new things and especially her love to help me in baking and sewing. Her mommy was the same way, they are like two peas in a pod. So as I mentioned today is Friday Story Day and Lia has an exciting story to tell!

Baking with GG Mama

Cake Pops

Mommy, GGmama and I made some yummy desserts just before Christmas! The first thing we made was chocolate cake pops and I had so much fun helping. I helped mommy add the ingredients, mixed them together and bake the cake.

After the cake was cooled a little, we rolled the cake with some chocolate in little balls and stuck a stick in it. It was fun rolling the cake pop with sprinkles but the best part was getting to sample one of them!

Italian Drop Cookies

Mama said these are her favorite cookies and I’m glad I was visiting with mama and papa on baking day. After we put the ingredients in the mixer I even got to turn it on and watch the bowl and cookie dough go round and round.

I helped drop spoonfuls of dough on the cookie mat and even added some sprinkles before baking.

On some of the cookies we had wait until the were cool to add the frosting. Then I got to put more sprinkles on the frosted cookies! They were so yummy, now I know why they are mama’s favorite! Here is the recipe if you want to try them: http://themarthareview.com/italian-drop-cookies/

Christmas Tree Cakes

Baking is so much fun with mommy and GGmama! Mommy made little Christmas tree cakes and I got to help decorate them too! I put the sprinkles on the trees after they were frosted.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

GG mama said that we HAD to bake chocolate chip cookies because she would help her gramma bake them when she was little. So on to the chocolate chip cookies! The best part was eating the batter off the mixer!

After we mixed up the batter, we added some chocolate chips and put scoops of the dough on the cookie mat. I was so excited when I was watching them bake in the oven.

We were making cookie baskets for our neighbors so I had to taste the cookies first to make sure they tasted good. Yes, they were great!

Our baking was done and now it was time to put some cookies in little cookie boxes and visit our neighbors! As we were leaving one of the neighbor’s house, they gave me a present! I was so surprised with the dancing Santa!

Baking with mama is so much fun but I even got to help her sew and stuff a pillow! I love helping and learning new things and maybe someday I can sew a pillow all by myself!

This is my mommy when she was about my age, she started baking and sewing with mama and now I’m doing the same thing!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting my Friday Story by Lia the Baby Blogger, I’ll be back with more exciting stories soon!

I love watching future bakers when they are learning. Baking can be so much fun and when you have willing hands to help mix and stir and then to taste test everything, it is more fun that work. Thanks for sharing all the pictures.

Lia’s mommy was the same way when she was younger. I think when we teach them young, it sparks interest and hopefully Lia will continue to enjoy baking just as her mommy still does. I love making memories with the grands Chef William.

I’m not sure who has more fun when we are baking, Lia or me! She is like a little sponge, takes in everything she does and remembers it! Thanks for stopping by Kelly.
