Awesome Value Money Can’t Buy

It’s the finale of the Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge, Day 31! I have completed yet another challenge and I must say doing a challenge in December was certainly a challenge in more ways than one. Today’s topic is content of all awesome value. An awesome value money can’t buy is something filled with generosity, love and kindness.

This is what Lia received when a dear friend gifted her a variety of beautiful clothes that her granddaughter had outgrown, a gift of love, friendship and generosity, a gift of all awesome value that money can’t buy. Tina messaged me saying she had a red and white dress with Santa on it and asked if Lia might like it.

The next day we headed over to Tina’s house with a box of cookies and bread that Lia made to pickup the dress.

When we arrived Tina said she found a few more clothes and when I looked on the bench, it was an entire closet full! There were everyday dresses, party dresses, jeans, jackets and so much more. These are just two of the party dresses Lia is modeling.

One of the dresses was a pink with white dots Minnie Mouse dress. Since Lia’s friend Carlos loves Mickey and Minnie, Lia wore this adorable dress to his birthday party!

Lia loves butterflies and there were two summer dresses with colorful butterflies! There was one with a sea turtle, another with a bunny and one with a flamingo! The sea turtle dress will be perfect when we go watch the sea turtles hatch and scurry into the ocean! This butterfly dress has adorable pink ribbons for the straps but since it was a bit chilly, Lia opted to try on a pink and black plaid flannel shirt with her dress.

I love this pose of Lia with designer jeans and a jean jacket! There is sequin banding down the outside of each leg, too cute! When Lia tried on the Minnie Mouse skirt, she still had on the jean jacket and she called me over to the door. She said, “Ma come ‘er and take a picture with me.”

A cold snap hit the Carolinas and we were just talking about Lia needing a heavy jacket. But there was a jacket in with the Lia new clothes! It was perfect when Lia went out to take pictures of Saturn and Jupiter the other night and when she’s outside on her swing!

This is not the first time Tina has gifted Lia with “new” clothes, last year she did the same. Look at this beautiful red coat that still fits Lia and she wore it to church the other day.

My all awesome value is something that money can’t buy, it’s friendship and love. But this is Tina’s nature with everyone and everything, she has a heart of gold and is the sweetest, kindest person to everyone. I hope she knows how much we appreciate all she has shared with Lia.

As the December Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge comes to an end I’d like to thank everyone who has visited, read, commented and shared my blogs. It’s because of all of you I had fun participating in another challenge!

This challenge is over but I’ll be back participating on another one very soon! My family and I are wishing you all a HAPPY and HEALTHY NEW YEAR!!

  3. I am just thrilled for her!!! What a wonderful haul of new clothes. And so pretty, too. Awesome value, indeed!

  4. Glad you have friends with kids just a smidge over the age of your great-granddaughter. Morever, it’ great that Lia has no scruples against hand-me-downs. (I recall getting clothes from my cousins, since they were just a few years older than I.)

When I was growing up, I got clothes from my older cousin and my outgrown clothes would go to my younger cousin Roy. We were all so excited when we got “new” clothes! Lia loved her “new” clothes in fact many were new, they still had tags on them! A wonderful friend indeed.

  6. Martha, what a beautiful story of generosity born of love! Maybe when the pandemic calms down, you can have a dressy party, so Lia can wear her silver-blue-black striped satin dress? Or just do the party on Zoom! (emoji for laughing). As for The Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge, I had joined in order to support you and Jeanine and the CCBC, then I used it like a writing class, practicing writing in various styles. But I also felt a lot of kindness and support from you and Jeanine, and it has been wondrous to enjoy getting to know you two. Happy New Year!

OMG Kebba, a Zoom party or fashion show would be a hoot! As for the beautiful silver-blue-black dress, Lia will be wearing that for her January Christmas pictures! Can’t wait for that. I’m so glad you joined in the Cornerstone Challenge and how great to do it for support! I’m happy you were able to use it as a writing and practice class. I enjoyed each of your blogs and look forward to see what is new for your blog in January! I’m so glad our paths crossed.
